is i know the are of a cylinder is 16pie cm3! how to i find the height, h, in terms of r ?
First you don't have an area, you have a volume if it's cm^3

Write the formula for the volume or surface area of a cylinder and make it equal 16pi

Then rearrange to make h the subject of the formula

Do you mean surface area or volume? As you've said area but states cm^3.

Formula for volume: pi*r^2*h
Formula for area: 2pi*r^2 + 2pi*r*h

Depending on which your 16pi relates to you can set the formula equal to 16pi and rearrange.

so for that misunderstanding i meant volume! so:

16pi*=pi*r^2h therefore pi* cancels leaving 16=r^2h !

so does this give you a final answer of 16/r^2=h
