Why are Feminism and Nazism often associated with eachother?

I see more and more people associating feminism / feminists with nazi ideology, and was wondering why?

Because people are stupid!
Honestly it's idiotic to compare the two and I would not identify as a feminist.

Because some people do not want equality or parity and view any changes in law as an infringement of their existing perrsonal freedoms imposed on them by others as if it were an unelected and unchallenged autocracy.

Fascism is used as a collective noun to demonise and undermine the morality of equality.
nazism is seen as the pinacle of a dictatorship - feminism is an authoritarian ideology in its modern form. therefore, it's adopted an appropriate name

Because most contemporary, 21st century feminism - like nazism - has decided to scapegoat men for all the problems in the world and has, like the nazis, generalised an entire group of people (in this case men) to aim their hatred at for their illogical arguments surrounding equality.

Let's be clear about one thing: women are not equal to men currently. But that doesn't mean women aren't benefitting from that position. Women have reached a comfortable niche which is almost, but not quite, the same as their male counterparts, meaning they can complain about wanting equality in some fields - equal pay, less women in certain jobs (mostly CEO positions/politics etc.) - yet don't want to be treated equally in others - a women hitting a man is considered acceptable but not vice versa, women get off with a staggering amount in court, and win almost 80% of custody battles.

The majority of the arguments modern feminists make drastically understates the violence women in 3rd world countries suffer from. But of course, modern feminism is more focused on banning 'Blurred Lines' from a university campus than actually giving a **** about women being stoned to death in Saudi Arabia.

Modern feminism has reduced whatever legitimacy its predecessors had to little more than a couple of over-priviliged university students trying to silence male voices at any chance they get. And that is one of the biggest problems of feminism now: it attempts to silence anyone or anything which challenges it by accusing its opponents of everything under the sun.

Lest you agree 100% with feminists you are automatically a rapist, hate and beat women, and despise every leading female figure there ever was. That is why feminism is compared to nazism because it has become an ugly, twisted movement that no longer seeks equality but superiority.

Dictatorship? Where they not elected democratically?
It's the extreme authoritarian nature of the modern movement. Any criticism is seen as misogyny and then is responded to with bullying. That and it demonises men for every issue facing some women.
Calling someone is a Fascist is like calling someone a racist. It is the ultimate a put down in our society for someone who don't like or a set of beliefs. Lots of people don't actually know what it means or attempt to be rational about it. It's just basically saying I don't like you and think you are a bully.

Even actual racists or fascists will throw the words around as insults.

Plenty of these hyperbolic hysterical people in this thread...

It's an insult to those who had to suffer through and were the victims of the rise of Fascism in Europe :-/

Even if all you said were true, to call them Nazis is just so ****ing stupid and wrong. I just, don't understand :'(

If all the Nazis did was the above in that post I'd be quite happy.

To call every man a 'misogynist' for not supporting feminism is an insult all of the suffragettes who fought for their equal rights and the right to vote.

Until that stops, I won't stop calling feminists feminazis.

It's like when you say 'grammar nazi' to someone, eg. someone in a thread who prefers to focus on petty mistakes and ignores the whole issue discussed in this thread, and therefore pisses everybody off.

Like feminists launching #freethenipple or BanPageThree during the Rotherham scandal.

Again, Nazisim is more that just throwing insults around lol Grow some thicker skin.

Also I don't think you are aware of what the suffragettes did... Bombs would be planted by them... Like the IRA. Had you been alive back then I'm sure you would have been calling them Nazis (if the Nazis had of existed in early 1900s). Modern feminism has nothing on that.

Also the likes of Emelia Pankhurst didn't want votes for working class men. Much worse than just calling people misogynist. Then the feminist like Sylvia Pankhurst who did support votes for all men and women were actual socialists in the true sense of the word. Doubt you would have liked them either. Stop pretending to support the "real" "good" feminism of the olden days you lot seem to make up in your own heads.

It's a pejorative.

I don't believe they are actually being compared to the nazis in any real fashion. It's just a useful suffix to distinguish radical feminists from those who are less poisoned by the contemporary views of the ideology.
That said, it is possible that some use it more literally. As both feminists and the police forces of nazi germany have/had seek/sought to restrict personal freedoms.

I rarely use the term personally though.

What references? Recent? Credible?

Unless you can actually give these, your OP, and subsequent replies, reeks of immature sexist 'trouble making'.

See, this is a valid, fair, appropriately placed criticism of the right thing.

In answer to OP, because people don't know the difference between radical feminism, which the modern day movement has strongly become unfortunately, and actual feminism. Also, there's probably a strong element of stupidity and idiocy involved too.

There is no relationship. It's a smear by men who are misunderstanding what feminism actually is and feel attacked by it.
