The Student Room Group

We need to stop this politically correct madness before it's too late..

We live in an insane world,

I used to be so left wing, but these days I just can't bear to be associated with the left any longer because of the insanity of political correctness.

When a man carrying an ISIS flag outside parliament square is allowed to roam freely, no arrest, nothing, where hate preachers like Anjem Chourdry are allowed to speak their nonsense and face no consequence. When we allow people into this country who hate us and wish to destroy us, in fear of being lablled politically incorrect.

By day I become more and more right wing, I can't stand the left's hiding behind emotions and victim mentality to further their agenda.

I am so sick to death of it all, look at what is happening to our country. Look at what has happened to Paris today, it's sickening and it needs to stop now. We need to send out a very clear message, if you are coming here you must assimilate, if you fail to do so, you are not welcome. We need to tackle extremism, most of these terrorists are HOME GROWN. What the **** is going on...

This is coming from an arab who has brown skin and a muslim family, I have to speak out, I have to vocalise my anger towards people who are poisoning this world with their hate and their envy.

What has happened in Paris today must be the last time this is allowed to happen, we must be tougher, we must be a lot less tolerant of any whiff of hate or anti-western sentiment. We must no longer be the lame, bleeding heart schmucks of the world who end up having our countries ****ed up because of an insane left wing who want nothing more than to achieve power by using emotions and emotional blackmail.

No thanks. I am perfectly fine being a unique individual with leftist views. If i judged the whole of the RIGHT on a few extreme right wing individuals i would have no faith in humanity.

Do not use single one off events to support your prejudices.
Bill.
OMG wtf

You're not allowed to call them terrorists anymore, you racist nazi, they are just pro-active radical activists.
(edited 8 years ago)
working classes have been destroyed, it's about time they turn right wing so the government can take more benefits off them.

LOL

It's not a single event being used to support a prejudice, it's a long-term slow realisation that really the most damaging things in our society are being caused by leftist ideas, especially politically correctness.

We have also allowed radical feminism to prosper, undermining real feminism (which is about equality) and created a whole tirade of problems in that field that really badly affect young men.. and women, but that's a whole other story.

Fact is, being someone who was once very left wing, and whom would still probably identify as centrist or center left, I am sickened by the left's use of emotion to win arguments, and their use of THEIR version of morality to gain political power, and that's all it's for, to gain political power, because it's easy to win a debate if you can convince your audience your opponent is morally reprehensible.

I don't know what you're trying to imply here, a bit off topic...

As far as benefits are concerned, I think benefits are essential to those who need it, as I said I was very left wing but am much more a centrist, I struggle to admit I am left wing because I think it's shameful what we support these days... we don't support equality and freedom anymore, increasingly we're becoming militant, anti-aspirational, hateful and downright authoritarian. A victim mentality is damaging to society as a whole, I am very concerned about the victim mentality a lot of us have in this country and the way the left use victimhood to further their agenda, people see through it and this is why we have a tory gov. Ultimately it's the left's fault this has happened, they're completely un-credible.

And guess who suffers for it the most? you guessed it... the poor.

I feel exactly the same way. I think the left wing is in need of serious reform. A lot of people remember when the left actually cared about truth and fought against censorship. The left has changed so much that the right now resembles the old left more than the current one does.

By day I become more and more right wing, I can't stand the left's hiding behind emotions and victim mentality to further their agenda.

The French are extremely left-wing, though. I'm not sure anything can be done at this point.

This is coming from an arab who has brown skin and a muslim family, I have to speak out, I have to vocalise my anger towards people who are poisoning this world with their hate and their envy.

Well, it's worth remembering that the ethnic groups you're talking about aren't very far from Europeans genetically. It's not in their blood to act like this, it's their faith. There were once great kingdoms in the Middle East, and it was actually the Muslims that destroyed them in the name of their faith for being heathens/infidels. Most of the people who are Muslims today are actually descendants of people whose families were killed and/or forced to convert by Muslims in the past.

So your race really shouldn't be conflated with religion. I don't know how the debates about religion always become racism issues, but it seems like they do.

What has happened in Paris today must be the last time this is allowed to happen, we must be tougher, we must be a lot less tolerant of any whiff of hate or anti-western sentiment. I think it's futile to fight human nature, though. Living in a civilised and wealthy society tends to make people soft, and when they become soft, they become more compassionate and more desperate to maintain peace. They lose the will to fight and peace at any price becomes desirable. The identity with any particular set of values fades.

The UK might have a shot because it's an island and the other English-speaking countries drag them right a bit, but the rest of Europe is done for.

lol what has being right wing done?
- more people living alone, break down of families, more arms sales, record increases in arms purchases, murder/death/destruction, corporate media, increased racism/intolerance, rising depression/mental health etc etc.

Would you Islam to be forbidden in the UK?
I doubt you'd agree.

Why are you pretending that lefts/rights are causing this. We all know it's Islam, don't act like it isn't. I know about most of the forum will keep saying stupid **** like most Muslims don't, x,y,z, but as an Ex-Muslim, I can clearly see their reasoning which as a Muslim makes sense. Having studied Islam a good amount of time.

The world is not black and white, left or right...

Poverty is not necessarily the fault of right wing thought. Say for instance north korea, is a socialist country, yet most of the citizens live in poverty.

To sustain our level of living, we would need 4 earth's, i'm sure you've heard this one, basic mathematics.

For one man to be rich one must be poor, a fact of life too, not a nice one but a fact nontheless, to deny this simple truth is to deny human nature.

I'm not saying it's good, i'm not saying I like it, but it's the way the world works.

What the left do that is wrong, is try to convince you that the world owes you something, when instead of waiting on the government to hold your hand we should all be aspiring to create wealth for ourselves and our families though hard work and creativity.

There's nothing stopping you and with the internet you have no excuse.

Benefits should be there for the poor and disabled, but they must not become a way of life, that's not good for anybody.

I'm against guns, i'm against arms dealing, I'm against intolerance.

I hold many traditional left wing views, but a lot of modern leftism is just simply madness, and it needs to stop.

You can't ban islam even if you wanted too and it if it would be beneficial, BUT we can tackle the hate preachers and their blatant terrorist followers we have as of yet been too cowardly to confront, in fear of being "racist"

I am from a muslim family and honestly we're exceptionally peaceful, it is true most muslims are peaceful, but there is a cancerous growing portion of the community that are extreme, I have not met a single one personally but I know they're out there (clearly)

The issue isn't Islam per sae, and I do say that honestly (bear in mind I'm strongly opposed to PC)

But there is that cancerous culture which is a small subset of islam that IS the problem. If that makes sense... and they must be dealt one swift blow into oblivion..

The point is the cancerous culture is actually IMO one of correct interpretations of Islam. If you look deep into Islam you will see stuff like the Shariah law which many Muslims these days will pretend to ignore but still believe in, most people Muslims carry extreme views if IMO they are following true Islam.

Most people are peaceful but it doesn't mean they don't harbour extreme views which sometimes are shown as such as this case. What do you think?

In all honesty, man I know devout muslims, people who dedicated their lives to the religion and have not even one fibre of violence in their rhetoric, belief or ideology.

They abhor violence.

Now, the thing is this subset of islam who perpetrate these crimes are often in my opinion hi-jacking the religion to gain power. Fairly simple concept, happens to work. Best way of securing power, this is what it's all about.

The ironic thing is, when cloaked in politically correct group think I imagine you spent years just writing off every 'right-wing' view as the precise definition of some imagined prejudice.

Think back to that day - realise that there are many born after you who apply such a simplistic mode of thought, and are being 'coached' into subscribing to modern, socially acceptable religions (the religion of women, the religion of feelings, the religion of multiculturalism, the religion of pathological altruism) by the higher education system (dependent on international students), corporatism (dependent on cheap migrant labour), the charity sector and NGOs (dependent on funding and grants), politicians (dependent on migrants for increasing their vote share), and you'll very quickly realise...it's already far too late.

We are now in terminal decline. The only question is: when will they flick the switch?
