How is heat from a radiator transferred to the surrounding walls?

How is heat from a radiator transferred to the surrounding walls?
First off, I'm no scientist (despite the A in GCSE Physics) so don't blame me if I'm half wrong but I think:
1.) Temperature of the radiator increases (as a result of the heating system in the radiator)
2.) This heat is then radiated outwards into the rest of the room.
3.) The walls surrounding the room then increase in temperature because the heat energy (some of it) is absorbed [not sure if absorbed is correct].
