Birmingham uni student halls

which ones are the best? im lookin for good atmosphere, socialising etc. also which ones are en suite ~?
En Suite : Tennis Court (3 blocks out of 24), Mason, Shackleton, Elgar Court, Chamberlain, Jarratt Hall (probably have missed one), also one or two of the privately owned halls such as Victoria Hall.
And with regards to best atmosphere, a lot of people will tell you anywhere on the Vale, and specifically Maple Bank or Tennis Court (due to their reputations) but I would honestly say its more about who you are with rather than where you are. You will have a good time whichever halls you end up in.

Thanks for replying! I'm quite interested in Maple Bank and Tennis Court (due to their reputations ) Is Shackleton good for partying?
Do you think en suite is worth the extra money? Idk if i could cope sharing.
and yeah you're right! hope my flatmates will be a laugh

Any hall that you're in will be good and you will find people that want to socialise, go out etc. Shackleton has the advantage that its got the duck and scholar bar below which is good for a few drinks. In terms of En Suite, I wanted it in first year as i felt more comfortable having it, but I don't have it this year (I'm a second year) and tbh I don't mind having to share a bathroom- it isn't as bad as it may sound. Obviously en-suite has its advantages but you would save a significant amount of money by going for a shared bathroom option. Its all down to personal preference really, en-suite is worth the extra money if it makes you feel more comfortable.

I was in shackleton and its good as all the vale facilities are there, but the rooms aren't as nice as Mason. If you are on meal plan I would probably go for Shack
