According to their website (http://join.ust.hk/admissions/1), yes you're right.

Hey guys!
If some of you went through the previous year's Non JUPAS application thread, you may have come across me.
I'm an Indian international applicant, and I've just graduated from school a few months ago.
I'm technically a reapplicant, applying to HKU (Bachelors in Economics and Finance) for the second time.

I got a firm offer last time, but I screwed my A levels up (Predicted 4A* 1C, got 2A* 1A 1B 1C. Thanks a lot, chickenpox) and couldn't get the entrance scholarship I was offered.
Retaking A level Mathematics (Scraped an A) and A level Economics (Messed up and got a B).

On a gap year now, looking for something worth doing after i finish my retakes.

Hi buddy
Would you like to tell me the grades to get to HKU EnF if you know?
Original post by Baalaje31
I'm not too sure if my conditionals were the same as what everyone else got.
2A* 1A excluding language subjects was what I was required to get.
Maybe check the previous year's forum, you might find something useful. I'm simply too lazy to go check now :P

So did u do an interview before?
I know that we have to choose 3 subjects in each of the uni
Will they just ignore the 2nd and 3rd choices if my results do not meet the requirement of the 1st one?
Is there any weighting on the priority of the choices?
So actually we just have 1 choice in each uni, is that right?
Original post by Baalaje31
Yep, and i'll elaborate on that around the time people start getting called for interviews.

I think they will consider you for the other two as well, and accept/reject you depending on if you satisfy their requirements.
I can only speak regarding HKU, and your choices are chosen in order of preference.

Thank you very much bro! I am preparing for the personal statement now!!

Are extra-curricular and leadership activities important?
Or is your academic transcript the most important thing?

also .... what do they look for when they're selecting for interviews?

HKU and CUHK then?
Hi ! I am thinking of applying HKU BA programme. I got ABBC last year, and my predicted grades are AAB. Unlike many of you, I dont have the Asian brain :frown: . Apparently the offer is normally A*AB, do you think I will still be able to get an offer from HKU?

Hi guys! I want to apply for HKU's IBGM programme but I just have 3A1B for AS level (predicted A*AA).
Do I have a shot???

I can talk about HKU, not CUHK as I dont know.
Yes, ECs and leadership roles are important although academics come first.

Thank you!

Hey- I'm applying for LLB at HKU and CUHK...heard it's ridiculously competitive so not getting my hopes up.

How important are interviews as part of the admissions process for HKU (compared to academic results, predicted grades, personal statements and references)
Applying to CUHK's business school!
