Edit: oops actually the objects moving clockwise not anti-clockwise,, I think you have the right idea though

so the velocity is always in the direction of movement right? And force is always towards the centre. So in the first position its velocity is to the right. If it then moves 90 degrees clockwise what is its new velocity direction? Is now down isn't it?
