Hi everyone,
Can someone please clear my doubt about School Direct. Do we are bound to work in any given school after our training?
Actually I want to know what happens after training?

I think there is an expectation that you will continue to work at the school, but as far as I know they aren't obliged to offer you a position nor are you obliged to take one.
Anyone else going to the Oxford interview today?
All my paperwork for Cambridge has come through. So many forms to fill out!

What do you think this means?
Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks!!
I'm holding off sending my application (PGCE/SCITT/Schools direct) because I'm not sure where we'll be living in 2016. Will I be too late to get a place for September 2016 if I keep waiting? Any experience of applying January-March and getting/not getting a place?? Thank you!

It depends upon the subject you are applying to. Like History, English fill far before than Maths,Physics.

That was actually one of the issues I was considering. Thank you  How are you getting on with your application? I have an interview tomorrow at Warwick

I have firmed an offer at Kingston for primary PGCE with early years specialism! Good luck at Warwick tomorrow! What sort of things do you need to do for the interview?

I've checked the schedule and it says the day starts from 9am. They check your papers etc. Then there's a 20 mins maths test and a 60 mins written task. After that it's lunch. Then a group discussion task. Finally, individual interviews that last 30 mins.

YIKES.

Congrats for your accepted offer!!

I had my interview at uni of Cumbria today. It went well but they didn't inspire me as much. Goldsmiths is definitely up there for me but I'm going to see how the ucl interview goes. Is there a time limit for accepting/ declining? What are you going to do

.

According to UCAS they have, although I imagine means they are just not open to any more applications, as they haven't cancelled my interview or anything.

I can't find my gcse certificates and I haven't been able to book my skills tests yet as there is a problem with my account which is being sorted by them, AND I haven't got the form filled in for the experience day. I'm kind of thinking there's no point in going :/

Hey babe, are you coming to the interview tomorrow and did you manage to find your GCSE Certificates?
I'm really worried about my fit to teach form. I have an eating disorder, anxiety and depression and am currently waiting to see if secondary NHS services will take me on. I can kind of ignore them to the extent that I can function well (I work 37 hours a week), but I don't know how to convey that in the form...

Yes! Why do you ask? The people were nice and I like how the course is set out, I just don't think it's for me

I have an interview for primary teaching Cardiff Met on thursday. Really unsure about having to 'teach a new skill'. Does this mean teach origami or how to count to ten in another language or is it more an LNF rich task type skill? Not sure if I should be teaching them as adults or as if I was in a primary school. Theres no information other than to teach a new skill. Any thoughts?

I had mine at Cardiff met today. I did cpr but people in my group did things like juggling, teaching to tie knots, folding tshirts etc!
So I had an interview at UCL IoE on the 2nd and hadn't heard back so sent an email to them asking if I might hear this side of Christmas. They replied saying admissions had the decisions and should let us know soon, then yesterday said I would be contacted that day. I wasn't and they sent me another email today saying the 'decision is now with ucas', but no update on my track or anything. Weird?!
