Why are IBs so unheard of in comparison to other GCE qualifications I.e A levels

Yeah why is it not? And what's the main difference between IB & A levels ?

Im not 100% certain, but i think an IB basically stretches a student across more academic disciplines, ie more subjects. The thing with that is that top, elitist unis are starting to see the a level route as too mature and 'easy' for some (which partially explains the governments shake up of the a level syllabus as of this year)

The IB is not exactly new as such, but it may overtake a levels in years to come. who knows?

IB is offered by far fewer English/Welsh/NI schools than IB. Main difference is that with IB you have to take 6 subjects including a Science, a Humanities subject and I believe Maths and on top of that do theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS) and the extended essay. A-Levels you just choose any 3 or 4 subjects.
