Offer: A*A (maths and f maths in any order) and and A in either French or Physics

Other offers: Nottingham, Leeds and Newcastle
Was rejected by Cambridge post interview, but now I'm feeling great as the next day Durham gave me an offer.
GCSEs: About 12 A*s and an A
Notes: Considering asking Durham about doing MMath European Studies so I get to keep my French up

Hahahaha that's what my mum and my friends said. Honestly I think I'm just not their typical maths applicant and they didn't want to take a risk. I mean academically I'm solid but I do so much extra curricular stuff like I'm a youth ambassador and they don't care about that stuff. Like I don't think it's a case of doing more, but doing less hahaha. I think Durham is the better choice for me anyway because I feel like they're more invested in their students becoming more than just specialists in their fields. Like Cambridge is an amazing uni, but so is Durham. Like I vow not to be one of those whiny rejects because you know what they didn't want me, but Durham does. It's not just a case of being good enough for a uni, it's about fitting in, and maybe they thought I wouldn't suit them. I'd rather go where I was wanted, and it's closer to home anyway.

That's exactly how I feel! I got rejected post-interview by Oxford but I was okay because I already had an offer for Liberal Arts at Durham :biggrin:

I'm super excited about the course because it means I'll still be able to keep up my languages which I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise :smile:

Hahaha I prefer my timings though, like I had the day of rejection and praying for a Durham offer, then the next day my prayers were answered and into my inbox fell the most beautiful UCAS track update ever. I was advised to only apply for pure maths at each uni, but a large part of me wanted to apply for Mathematics European studies which would mean doing a little French work and a year in Switzerland. Now I think I'm going to ask to switch in September. I don't think people realise how great languages are - like it brings me such joy, just nowhere near as much as maths does Hahahaha

Don't worry, they give offers out until March - it's a long window. I know a lot of people that are still waiting. Keep smiling and don't get disheartened :colondollar:

Hi all, I applied for two courses at Durham, got both offers back in December, but haven't really seen any other Classics/Archaeology posts on here but one!

Offers: Both AAB
Courses: Archaeology BSc; Archaeology and Ancient Civilisations
Current A-levels: Biology, Classical Civilisations and Early Modern History

I've also got an offer for Bioarchaeology from York, and am waiting on hearing from Warwick and St. Andrews - has anyone here got an offer from the latter yet? I've heard absolutely nothing from them...
