I love Loughborough!

While the town is small and there are a few select "big" shops around, there's plenty of great bars around that you can never get bored of. The campus is boasted as being very large and can be daunting at first, but you soon know your way around absolutely everywhere within a couple of weeks.

Socialising and making friends as soon as you start is great, there are so many events during freshers week that involve nights out but also day events. There is a society for about everything on the planet so you're bound to find people who are into the same things as you are.

I think the academic side in unmatchable. The university defiantly cares about their students, every department is fully equipped with everything you can ever need and the tutors etc are very approachable and friendly. During and after University you can say that you attend(ed) Loughborough University and I assure you that you will be remembered. Being a research heavy University, everything is up to standards and dates, its constantly evolving.

Hey guys,

I realise this is entirely dependant on personal preferences, but I need some advice on accommodation at Loughborough. I've received an offer so that's awesome, but I'm unsure of what accommodation to apply for. I want to live in sociable halls, though I am aware that the whole point of uni is the degree at the end of it, so nothing stupidly crazy. I definitely want self-catered, and am not fussy on whether it's an en suite bathroom or shared. I don't want anything really expensive, either.

I'd love to hear some people's experiences in any of the uni halls, and based on my criteria what would you suggest? I'll be studying Politics/International Relations

I currently go to Loughborough University and I live in Robert Bakewell halls. Being the most modern halls on campus, you can bet that these will be the most popular! Bakewell as a hall is very sociable and by far holds the most party-ers and event goers out than compared to the other halls on campus. However if you're looking for expense, it might be a problem considering its higher price in comparison to other halls. The halls are self-catered with a very large kitchen, large bedrooms with double beds and an en suite bathroom.

Might be being biased here, but I love Bakewell halls so much that I applied again for my second year here!

To be fair, 99% of Loughborough University's halls are sociable unless you choose the "quiet" option.
