From tomorrow I will only eat plant based foods for the rest of my life hopefully.

Actually, plants do feel pain. Not in the way humans do, perhaps even worse because we can't understand it.
You know that smell of freshly cut grass? That is grass's warning to other plants saying "death is coming". It is the equivalent of the smell of blood to us.

Which one do you think it more cruel, letting animals procreate, letting them live a life, then killing them for consumption OR not eating any animals and letting a whole species die off because that's how supply and demand works.
