GDP does not necessarily equate to "quality of life" House prices I get be considerably lower for instance

Your quality of life is higher in the north of England than the south of England, despite wages being slightly less. House prices are much much cheaper and you have more disposable income. The air is also cleaner up north.

But HDI factors in GDP per Capita, which is not exactly a 'fair' assumption as it assumes every single person has an equal share of the country's GDP.

I know I have no data to back this up but surely it's far more likely to assume that the country of Seychelles despite it's far lower GDP, it is much easier to assume it has split its GDP more evenly than in the UK.

It's a country that massively relies on socialism and most people are in the public sector whereas in the UK there's far more variance.

People have less disposable income but look at the comparison in prince of land per square feet in Seychelles vs the UK. The city I live in, in the UK is almost twice the size of Mahe, the island where most in the Seychelles live. Even with lower disposable income, people rarely have to use transportation considering the beach is less than an hour away no matter where you are.

This doesn't translate into BMEs getting sustainable employement though. Black unemployment is still the highest out of all ethnic groups.

Thanks and the other two who were arguing before were not really open for discussion. I'm not trying to say Seychelles is better than the UK or anything, I like both. I just meant that day to day life is comparable, I can't see how it wouldn't be.

Ah I getcha . I've used numbeo to see the difference in quality of life within the UK too. Generally speaking your quality of life is better in the north of England despite the wages being slightly less

Except no one actually said that. Show me a post where someone actually said something like that. All that was said here is that it's understandable because of the culture African students are coming from. No one in this thread has made this a race thing.

Besides why is it bad for people to be happy black Africans do well in school? Considering the state of the continent. Why can't we be happy that a new generation of intelligent youths are going to improve the continent?

And everyone acknowledged the fact that smartness isn't something inherent in any particular race.

That same news article in the OP stated that students from Africa did much better than the black carribeans/other black students. No one, not even the one carribean person that posted here, said that it was discrimination against other black people.
