Seen the Britain First video where they harass Anjem Choudhary on his doorstep? I noticed there wasn't a long queue of muslims at his door waiting to harass him. If the Muslim community did their job against Luton's extremists then Britain First wouldn't even exist!
Should they not be able to walk around in their own country holding the symbol of their religion and ancestor's religion?

It doesn't matter which university you studied your law degree at. It's about what you do in the future, with the knowledge you've gained in the present.

The hiring process at UK unis is just one of the many scandals waiting to hit the ceiling fan in time to come. you see, if the recruiting officer for a particular University is from Treasure Island, he will only shortlist Candidates from Treasure Island and therefore the person to fill up the vacant teaching position will eventually be from Treasure Island. it's a very biased recruiting process.

You only have to look at students surveys where majority of them have been dissatisfied with the level and standard of teaching and who also felt that the £9000 fees is wholly unjustified!

Have you ever asked yourself why is it that the lecturers from EU teaching at the top UK unis are so against UK leaving the EU? Cos once UK pulls out of EU, UK will operate under a work permit system. So if you are an EU citizen working in UK, you will need to return back home and apply for a work permit. But of course you will need to compete with other suitable candidates from the Commonwealth countries who not only speak good English but genuinely breath and live the English Common law. Of course this doesn't apply to those EU citizens who have already gotten British citizenship.

You and many others here keep harping about reputation and rankings. I am focused solely on level of teaching quality. Tell me. Which of the two is important? Obviously teaching quality cos if you don't understand what the lecturer is saying or if you have a very boring lecturer, you will probably end up getting low marks for exams because you just hate the subject and you won't revise for it because you have a lousy lecturer unless if you have a strong mind.

I agree with you and gave you rep for your great post. If i could just reiterate for the rest who are in constant denial, the emergence and brilliant work of Britain First would not be sensational if successive British governments after Thatcher had carried out their duties properly. The problem in UK is that if your great-grandfather was a Tory, chances are your grandfather and your father was a Tory too. That was fine because politicians of the past truly cared for the citizens. After Thatcher was betrayed by her own party members, the next batch of politicians onwards till today have always been about lining up their own pockets and filling up their boots.

First of all, you have a weak British government led by a Prime Minister who is clueless. He claims that he will get a good deal for UK insofar as her membership of the EU goes but at the same time, he knows that the best deal is to be able to control your own borders and decide who can come and live in the UK, subject to
1) checking if they are holding genuine passports
2) checking if they have links to terrorist groups
3) checking if they have criminal records in their home countries
4) checking if they have the necessary educational qualifications or skill set
5) checking if they have HIV/AIDS

Someone recently asked me why should people wanting to enter into another country, be checked for HIV/AIDS? This is because the government owes a duty to its citizens to protect them from people who may want to infect others with their communicable diseases. This is an extension of a 'social contract theory'. Read up on it if you have time.

You then have a Cabinet that is staffed with people who are equally clueless. How Theresa May, a geography graduate became the Home Secretary is beyond ridiculous. She has committed so many blunders over the years but the notable ones have to be

You also then have Prime Minister's Question Time where it is a constant ruckus. The rationale behind the televised coverage is to update the citizens on whats been happening or for them to see their MPs actually stand up and voice out the constituents problems. But it's turned into a very bad weekly comedy show.

You then have multiple police forces all over UK which are led by Police and Crime Commissioners who are party partisan. Their elections have proved that it was a waste of your taxpayers money to finance it and that the voting turnout was horrendously low.

Also, some of these Police and Crime Commissioners have paid and are continuing to pay huge salaries to their family members and friends on their staff and paying for other unnecessary things. On the topic of Police and Crime Commissioners, my favourite has to be Ann Barnes, the PCC of Kent. Words cannot describe her incompetence. You'll just have to watch this for yourself.

This, coupled with open borders make UK a very unsafe place. Why, you may ask? How are you able to detect the bad guys when you allow practically anyone to enter into your country and at the same time, expect the police to do their job when front-line staff are being stretched due to cuts in their numbers?

Shouldn't the logical thing to do be to take control of your borders, stop giving away billions yearly to EU and millions in foreign aid to India (who btw have a very solid space shuttle and nuclear programme) and instead channel that money to paying higher wages to your doctors, nurses, police etc and employing more of them?

channel money into your front line forces such as the police, doctors, nurses and teachers

•

with tightened and controlled borders, the police should comb each city, check people if they have valid papers or deport them immediately if they don't. Suspicious people with link to terror groups must be detained, investigated, charged and then imprisoned indefinitely

•

be brave to launch police investigations into terror groups, regardless if they operate in the churches, temples, mosques or at the playgrounds. Hiding behind political correctness is a cowardly thing to do.

•

you must repair the reputation of the police force so that men in blue will regain the trust of the citizens

If these steps are followed, UK will not only a safe country but also a great country once again.

Usually comments about description against muslims which work on the presumption that all muslims are brown-skinned. Or attacks against arabs as being attacks against Muslims. In general, an attitude that generally uses arabs and muslims interchangeably.

Its not as if they staged the reactions. Those who chose to be antagonised made themselves look bad, of course there were plenty there who ignored what they were doing because the footage chops and changes all over the place. Rapid editing is always used to make things look more frequent than they are however the reactions and speech of these individuals in a public place and therefore has every right to be documented and disseminated.

I dont disagree that people will likely jump on the bandwagon over this however people have a responsibility to represent their communities and do by proxy, the police are distrusted because of some bad officers, the army is disliked due to a few so called 'war criminals' (i have seen threads calling them baby killers which is apologia at its finest) and christians are often ridiculed for the backwards beliefs of some of their communities ie the 'well technically the Westboro Baptist Church is still following christianity' and 'by right you'd have to stone gays to death cuz bible' arguments. At a time of tension there is a responsibility on both sides to try and defuse tensions, and whilst the Britain First group was attempting to be deliberately provocative that doesnt entitle those offended to assault them, or use intimidation or battery.

The swearing is irrelevant 'f**k off mate' is nothing but the threats to 'knock [the sign holder] out mate' and the like are unjustified. There is no defence of these behaviours, legally or morally. There is no inherent right not to have your beliefs questioned or challenged and the BF members had every right to act as they did. Shutting down marches and protests is an affront to freedom of speech and expression, and the group did not incite racial hatred by legal definition. If the action of those to whom the protest was taken to breeds more opposition to them then that is entirely their own fault.

In a world increasingly controlled by information dissemination outside of government, international outlets and social media being just some of them - how is it fundamentally different to block off access to these ideas and opinions from the majority of people by taking them off mainstream networks the majority of which are not governmental. Freedom of speech isn't a simple definitive issue and nor should it be argued to the word of law but rather to the purposive intent otherwise these loopholes mean it occurs in all but name. Also how exactly is it racist, even excluding the obvious argument that muslims are not one race and nor do they all come from a single race.

Well for starters there's the amount of people who claim you can be racist against Muslims, like there's not millions of Muslims worldwide who are white, black and everything in between.

Then there's all the people who kept banging on about that white guy who tried planting some IED in a Preston shopping centre. Tons of people were gloating about it, saying "look! White people can be terrorists too!" implying that white people cannot be Muslim..........only brown people can.

Two separate threads were made on that one alone on just TSR. Both OPs were swiftly demolished over it and rightly so. But these people keep doing this every time a white person commits an act of terrorism. Do you see what they are implying here? There's white people..........and then there's brown Muslims.

It's amusing really, that in their desperation to appear to be the enlightened and "progressive" ones in the room, they end up only showing only their own ignorance and prejudices. As social justice warriors often do.
