Why would not studying in the 4th best ranked university in the world for economics be a good thing. Oxbridge is 8th and 9th. I know rankings aren't everything, but they are based on factual observations on the quality of the course delivered along with a number of other factors. If you look at the employees of top IB's such as Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan, ~10% of their employees are from LSE, magnitudes higher than their oxbrigde counterparts. Even though you want to work with governments and international cooperation, the employability of lse's graduates must surely be highly regarded as a reason to atleast earn a spot on your application form.
