Shouldn't have done.... which comment?
I think this is a good idea. :yep:

I think they should do the same with English, some of our spellings are ridiculous. :yep:

hehehe heuheuheu

c'est assurément la sueur de ta soeur
les nénuphars répandent discrètement
leurs anciens larmes
dans l'étang amère;
les oignons pleurent à l'unisson
ils sont violés eux aussi
et le goût des huîtres en août
est interdit par les transfuges
qui se croient nos maîtres
contre notre patrimoine langagier
l'étendard sanglant des bien-pensants est levé

luttons contre cette nivellement par le bas
la saisie des plumes de vos tantes
ne doit être plus retardée
même si votre postillon
a été frappé par la foudre

In all honesty, this frustrates me beyond belief. It's so odd that Académie française dictates change within the language vs. natural language progression/development.

I've thought this for a bit, but isn't this normal for other languages? I was under the impression that most other languages had some sort of ruling body, that was considered entitled to make changes.

Can't believe I just wasted my daily bear rep on that. I didn't think it would let me
I found it sad that there has to be a body which decides which forms are fine, and which aren't.
English doesn't have one, and it doesn't hurt it in any way (although, to be honest, some spelling rules could be changed- like the Australians tried to do)
Bear has strong google translate skills. I like the circumflex, I'll still use it.
