Me and my partner aren't having kids either. We don't want them because we just don't really like kids much. I've never been around them so I don't know how to act around them and we don't feel the need to bring another life into the world when there's already so many out there and in general, just never had the notion to have a kid. If we did ever want kids, we would adopt but I never see us changing our views. We've said from day one we would just stick to pets

I don't dislike or hate kids, it's just that they are a life's sacrifice worth of hard work and even then there's still so much that can go wrong. I'm not up to the task of raising a kid in this society.

I feel like spouses/partners would be more free to focus on each other's lives without having kids, you don't need the responsibility to make you happy, but some people live for purpose, and they see a lot of purpose in raising children.
