Especially if I want to return to Toronto to complete my NSAs and eventually find a job.

City university is an average UK university, it usually ranks in most rankings somewhere in the 30-40 range. Leicester usually ranks in the 20-30 range. So Leicester seems to rank a bit higher. However, in terms of entry criteria they rank very closely at around 30th place. City gained its Royal Charter in 1966 and is a plate glass university. Leicester gained its Royal Charter in 1957 and belongs to the second wave of civic universities (like Reading, Nottingham, Southampton, Hull, Exeter).

City has a world renowned Business School, Cass. It is very strong in Business and Management subjects.

In terms of Law City demands 29 IB points were as Leicester 34. So if you assume that entry points are a good indication of how good a university is, then Leicester seems to be better in Law.

So overall, in terms of Law there does not seem to be a great difference between Leicester and City. The rankings and entry criteria give a slight better picture for Leicester.

Granted City does have a good business school (CASS), my cousin went there for his masters and got to the final stage interviews at Goldman Sachs. He works for a major oil company in the Middle East now. For Law I would put Leicester well above City.
