Ladies, without googling it, can you describe in your own words what an investment banker does, or anything else you know about investment bankers (literally anything)

Asking because of something interesting I read in a thread about dating on another forum.

I have no idea. I would presume that they manage stocks and investments of a company or person. Completely guessing.

Investment Bankers do many different things. The investment banker acts in a capital markets advisory capacity to corporations and governments,rather than dealing directly with individual investors. Investment bankers help their clients raise money in the capital markets, provide various financial advisory services, and assist with mergers and acquisition activity.

If you were to take the title literally you would think an investment banker is someone who invests in a bank.

so there is no clue in the title except it has something to do with investment.
