US Presidential Candidates

Who was the first Democrat to announce they were running this time around? And also who was the first Republican to do so as well?

Also, how many televised debates were there for each party in the invisible primary?

Hillary Clinton was the first Democrat candidate to announce her campaign on the 12 April 2015 whilst Ted Cruz was the first Republican candidate to announce his campaign on the 23 March.

There were 7 republican debates held before the invisible primary whilst for the Democrats there was 4.
