I bet she earns it.
It is not unusual for people to drift apart from those they were friends with during their school years. For me there are only four who I speak to regularly and two of them have moved away. So don't be surprised if your friendship ends if it hasn't already.

Hopefully the reason you know about his girlfriend's occupation is because he has told you and not from idle gossip or another friend's personal experience. I'd be worried about STDs, not want to be in a relationship myself with a woman who has sex with someone else at the same time. It does seem that if the relationship all ends, your friend could be in a strange city without a permanent home and in a lonely place.

He is also becoming more and more distant from our circles, spending more time with his gf.

Are you 100% sure he ain't a pimp?

I am angry about the situation, but rather than talking to him I have my own life to attend to. Things to achieve. The friendship has ended, none of my ****ing business.

"To be the "black sheep" in the family, like the one that is the goof and the screw up. Named after Fredo Corleone, who was Michael's older brother in the Godfather, and he was considered to be the failure in the family."hey, i heard your brother dropped out of high school"
"I know, he is such a fredo"
A bit of a bitch.

Maybe that is why he is dating a prostitute then because he a 'Fredo'. Maybe it's to get back at his family and make his mum mad or something. He probably loves dysfunction.

Who are you? Best friend of prostitutes?

One of the advantages of not being a judgemental ******** is that people are prepared to tell you stuff.

So, yes, I know some.

Do you also befriend drug dealers?

Erm, I think one friend sells on their excess of MDMA. Not doing drugs myself, it's not something I notice.

But I simply don't believe any man would have unprotected sex on a regular basis with a woman who admits to having unprotected oral sex with lots of other men who themselves will no doubt be having such sex with yet others.

Have you any experience of the clubbing scene?

But if you think there's a chance he's on the level you'd be doing both him and his girlfriend a massive favour by telling him that oral sex is definitely not safe!

No form of 'in person partner sex' is. Different activities carry different risks and for most people, oral is "safe enough" without a barrier.
Just wish them well but secretly think "I told you so" if it all goes pear shaped.

Yes.
I infer that you are saying that people have unprotected oral sex a lot with people they have picked up in clubs ?

There is of course a very big difference between the chance you take with a woman you meet in a club or bar and the chance you take with a known prostitute who is sleeping with men who have shown a willingness to be reckless with their actions by having unprotected sex with a prosititute.

It goes without saying that any unprotected sex is a risk since you can never be sure your partner is 100% faithful.Or indeed has a long standing condition unless they've been tested.

We are not talking about most people here we are talking about prostitutes.

I don't know what it's like where you are, but in London there are plenty of places where you don't need to leave the club...

Yes, there is a big difference.

For one thing, someone to whom sexual health is vital for their work is rather likely to have far more check-ups and be consistent with condom use for casual / commercial partners than some random woman with a fraction of the number of partners.

Oh look, the research says I'm right. Compared with other people, sex workers either have about the same (male) or a much lower (female) level of STIs than the number of their partners would suggest.

Is the somewhat convoluted end of the sentence meant to be saying that the woman in question here is shagging anyone else without a condom?

We are not talking about most people here we are talking about prostitutes.

Late news just in: prostitutes are people too.

You would never recognise the vast majority of them on the street or when you meet them outside of their work.

Some may say "It's just sex" but it is naive to believe that prostitutes don't enjoy at least some of the sex with their clients and orgasm during their meetings. I just don't know how he stomachs it when she comes home 'worn out'.

It all just seems a bit surreal, that is all. It feels like just yesterday that he was behaving normally.

If she's buying the house, she'll also more than likely be 'servicing' clients round there, in their home. That is all kinds of messed up!

Gosh.

I'm really not at all sure why you seem to be a bit antagonistic towards me on this( most other things I say on this forum I'd understand).

I have slept with over 1000 women the majority of which I paid.

I have been out socially with a few of the women I've paid for sex (one even asked me to be her boyfriend)and I like to think that most of the others went away thinking I treated them with the utmost respect.

I actually prefer sex with escorts than sex with non escorts (which I realise of course may well mean there's something wrong with me).

I have always been drawn to unconventional people rather than privileged predictable people.

The point being that I really really resent being told that prostitutes are people too.

Apart from anything else I really struggle to understand what that's got to do with having unprotected oral sex?

Anyway this is simple really.

I would never ever ever have unprotected sex with a prostitute.(Although I confess I have had unprotected oral sex with some in the past.)*

And that's not just for my protection,it's for theirs too.

I've lost count of the number of naive ,ignorant sex workers who have been wrongly informed that unprotected oral sex is ok and whom I've tried to and hopefully have put right on the subject.

It bloody well isn't ok.

Now you can disagree all you like. But there's nothing more to be said from my side.

Cheers

* Incidentally,on almost every occasion that I did have unprotected oral sex with a sex worker I caught something.

Everyone has their own place on the 'acceptable-not' risk continuum and saying other people's choices are Wrong isn't particularly useful. (There are plenty of people here who would say that paying for sex is Wrong, as I am sure you know.)

To OWO or OW is one of the big choices sex workers make and there are good reasons to say that both choices are ok.
