Good plan
The staff do seem really nice. I like the fact that we'll be in a small group of around 50 too.

The private halls sound fancy, what are they like?

Do you know anyone else who's been accepted onto the course?

So I'll be travelling from the outskirts of Barnsley. It only takes about 20 mins to get to the station by train. How close is your accommodation to R.Winston building? Do you know Sheffield quite well? I've not found anyone else yet either.

Well I'll be there now! That's not far at all then  What does your partner study? My other half and I met whilst I did my previous degree a while back. I'm kind of feel old going back as a mature student (25)...it's the word 'mature' I think!

He studies business and financial management:smile: what was your previous degree?
From the open day i found that there seems to be quite a few mature students that go for this course!

I did Sport, Health and Exercise sciences. Are you going to university from sixth form/access? He's definitely got a good degree behind him.

That's cool  You'll enjoy university... so much to do, learning is so different and you can make some good friends. Third year is when it's most tough though with dissertations to write up. Are you thinking of joining any clubs or societies?

I've heard exactly the same. I'd like to and if I did then it would be a sport, however I'm also looking to still work part time at my current job... so likely not :frown:

I'm really looking forward to placement too but I'm also a fan of the theory side of things  Is there a speciality / modality you're mostly interested in like plain film, MRI, US? I've just bought some books to do with physics and radiation I'm going to have a read through before Sept. I've heard that the physics module is the most daunting.

Im really interested in US long term, although all the elements facinate me! Which area are you most interested in? What books have you bought?

I'd initially like to work in trauma but my long term goal is to specialise in musculoskeletal ultrasound. Do you like the thought of reporting your own images? So a radiologist I work with said 'Physics for Chemists' (Cockett et al) will help with calculus and I found another book called 'Principles of Radiological Physics'.
