Hi! So I have this question in my chemistry homework: "Draw a skeletal formula of a product formed when limonene reacts partially with hydrogen". I know what a skeletal formula is and that limonene is C5H8 but I'm not sure how hydrogen would react partially? Would just one hydrogen ion react with limonene instead of all of H2? Thanks in advance :colondollar:

I think what it means by partially is that hydrogen is added across only one of the double bonds.

So one of the double bonds is going to open up and hydrogen is added.

This double bond will probably the one at the end, not the one in the ring because that's the more energetically favourable reaction
Okay, thanks
