Found some intrinsic coordinates and radius of curvature in the old P4 textbook, page 56. No mechanics unfortunately but it'll have to do :lol:

OK, I've ended up in a horrible mess of algebra which I don't have time to check properly so feel free to put up your solution - I'd like to see where/if I've gone astray. (And Binet's equation didn't help, nor did angular momentum - fat lot of good those hints were)

Oh my god, no wonder I went astray. The first line of my working after writing down the equations of motion is ψ=dydx=sinhx\psi = \frac{dy}{dx} = -\sinh x. It's time to shut up the maths books for good.
