Any good biryani recipes?

I'd like to cook a Biryani at some point this week but I'd like to keep it authentic. Can anybody recommend some tried and tested recipes?

I'll most likely use chicken or lamb.
@Biryani007 knows loads about them :ahee:

I live practically next door to a Halal shop that sells Shan/Laziza spice mixes so I'll pick it up and give it a try.

I was sort of hoping to do it from scratch, but it's a lot of ingredients!

Thank you for the recipe, I'll make it tomorrow and post the results

Doing it from scratch would cost a lot, the spice mixes are what most people use and they taste amazing...WBZ144's recipe looks good, let us know how it goes and I'll right up mine for you too...I prefer Laziza Bombay Biryani mix though...

It turned out okay, really, really spicy.

Did you layer the rice/meat?? or just mix it all together?

If you do cook it again, maybe try adding more rice or use half a packet of spice mix...

You layer it and cook on very low heat for around 20 mins then mix slightly to get rid of the layers and until half of the rice is coated...idk if that makes sense
