C2 maths help

Hi I was just looking at the work I've missed today due to being ill. We were doing translations of graphs and I under stood the basic ones but I'm stuck on the question:
What vector translates 16x^4 to (2x+1)^4

I'm just about confused to how you approach this one.
Many thanks

Well, you know that 16=2416 = 2^4, so: 16x4=24x4=(2x)416x^4 = 2^4 x^4 = (2x)^4.

So, if you have f(x)=(2x)4f(x) = (2x)^4, what translation would you require to get fT(x)=(2x+1)4f_T(x) = (2x+1)^4?
