Awhh Bless thank you and i wish you get th ebest grades you want too
I have started to revise from September 2015 but i just get distracted very easiy. EXAMS ARE COMING UP SO I NEED TO PUT MY ACT ON . Science was one of my strong subject but then i focused too much on Maths and i have kind of gone a little done although i get good grades
Geography one of my weak subjects but i try my best at it

Thank you - I'd say Science and Maths are my strongest but the essay based ones like History and Geog are weaker so we can work together on little things if you like

And yes, exams are coming - there is about 76 days until my first exam which is under 11 weeks - yay...not

Even though you get distracted little and often revision is normally best so you probably do a lot without realising. If you get really distracted try writiing down what it is that distracts you and if there is something that pops up often, then try and find a way to stop it or work around it

Hahah I love in London and everyone is competitive , i mean this girl at my school cries if she doesnt get the top result in the class .-. OMG I know she wants the best but sometimes she has to calm down nd think rather than crying because it looks like it is your fault she's crying for. I mean competition is everywhere tbh.

I want to get into this school called Townley Grammar and i need to achieve good grades so i will get the grades

I'm from up north  but yes competition is everywhere, but probably not as much as it is in London

I know I feel disappointed at school if I don't do as well as I had hoped but I have never cried over it, just taken it as a learning experience and it has spurred me on to work even harder

Good luck with you grades and I hope you get in to Townley Grammar - I'm sure you will though, you have the right attitude for sure

Let me know how you get on

Geography Paper 2 was fairly good i think although there were some difficult questions that i was quite unsure about. Tomorrow is Maths Paper 2 and Geography Paper 2- decision making paper. Paper 1 for Maths was quite easy so i am expecting something more difficult tomorrow for Paper 2. Oh yes,BTW did you get your grades? How did you do?

Glad to hear it went well. Let's hope Maths and Geog 2 are good to you too. It will probably be harder if the first one was easier, but you never know

And for my mocks, some of the results we have had I have been slightly disappointed with but other I have been pleased with. I will post an update with all my results when I get them all(so for now it will remain a mystery )
UPDATE FOR 02/03/16
Completely cream-crackered today

Notes on Coastal Landforms caused by erosion and Coastal transportation and deposition

Made draft questions for the above topics (going to add them to the online flashcards tomorrow)

Recapped Crooks in Of Mice and Men

UPDATE

Morning so today I plan to revise Chemistry (alcohols), print more past papers, start on my character profiles, revise Geography (and finish controlled assessment at school), and revise some History.
Thats great. I'm planning on further maths and it's quite complicated. How do you do your geometry and algebra?
(edited 8 years ago)
I just noticed, we're doing the similar A-levels (If I get through GCSEs) but I'm not doing Geology

WELCOME!
School bits:
Hi Everyone,

I'm in year 11 so I will be sitting my GCSEs in less than 100 days (eek). I also have mocks on the 22nd Feb so keeping this thread will make sure I have kept up with my revision. At the moment my targets and grades are:

English Language: A*
English Literature: A*
Maths: A*
Biology: A*
Chemistry: A*
Physics: A*
German: A*
History: A*
Geography: A*
ICT: A*

Some of you may look at this and wonder how I can improve, but I set really high standards and in some of my mocks I have been getting 84/85 and scores like that, so I am working towards getting as high a mark as possible, and not just securing the grade.

Hopefully, if I can get the grades, I want to go on to college and study Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Geology.

Personal bits:
If you want a bit of background I've always been quite good academically (though I genuinely hate to admit it) but I believe it is down to the fact that I have severe Atopic Eczema (that the specialist said was the worst in 30 years) and because of this, I have found studying to be a worthy distraction. I also can't see out of my left eye which makes life interesting but I like it that way. If I can work hard enough, and get into University, I will be the first person in my family to do so, and considering my parents have barely any qualifications, this is definitely something I aspire to.

A few last words:
I am open to any advice or constructive criticism and I am happy to help anyone too.

If you want to find out more about me as a person I would be happy to post info and along the way, I will be detailing revision I have done, so if you would like to see pictures of it just let me know and I'll be happy to upload

For all my revision I use purely past papers and when I get a question wrong I focus on that topic. Generally I would say I am just as good at geometry or algebra as other topics in Maths, but I really like Algebra so that should be a positive

That's really good - even more reason to try and get those grades, especially if those subjects are what you really enjoy

I love maths, that's it x'D
Can I just say, I have found setting up this blog really useful because not only have I learnt a lot about others and useful tips and sites to use in revision, but I have also been able to help out other people - which is something I didn't thiink I would be able to do
How does one get A* in ICT? Some tips for this would be nice.

The best advice I can give is to get every available mark in the coursework so that it gives you more to fall back on in the exam. For the exam, practice papers are key and learn all the terminology with flashcards.

Hope this helps

Maths is still a good reason to keep trying - it can get you very far in life
Coursework . 60% friends help me a lot. 40% theory. It's common sense.
UPDATE FOR 03/03/16

Again, today, I am soo tired, so I'm getting an early night.
I've managed to achieve:

History revision (6 marker on US intervention in Vietnam)

Chemistry Alcohol notes recap

Hopefully, if I can re-energise for tomorrow, I can absolutely storm my revision tomorrow and over the weekend so that I can do past papers and get through loads of material (and even teach myself everything I haven't already learned yet)

I'm feeling the lack of energy today too, glad I'm not the only one!
I'm wanting to get LOADS done this weekend too as I want to catch up on CAs and general revision, which will hopefully happen
Good luck with the self-teaching, I'm considering it for biology where my teacher tried to teach us the entire of B6 in 3 lessons (bad idea)
