What advantages do Macs have over Windows laptops?

having an apple logo at the back of your laptop and becoming a mainstream kid, can't see it as an advantage myself

Apple don't have any unique or proprietary hardware powering their machines or any software secrecy to drastically improve the performance of those components, a Windows laptop with the same Intel processor and same calibre of RAM/hard drives etc will perform very similarly.

From my experience, the Mac OS is far more stable than Windows. Generally Macs and equivalent Windows PCs are not that different in price either, despite what people may have you believe.

You must have been downloading dodgy **** to make Windows unstable.
Macs are said to be better for film makers and music makers. :yep:

I agree - in the last 3 years of owning a Windows laptop, I haven't had any problems with regards to stability of the OS. (Previously, I did get a BSOD issue, but that was resolved via Advanced Systemcare.) The 4 or 5 years previous to that, I haven't had any Windows stability issues, either. (The last 3 years are on windows 7, the first 4-5 years on XP. Very shortly, I will be switching to a dual booted Windows 7/Windows 10 setup, again with no issues expected.)

I've previously had experience with GarageBand on Mac, and that was good - but for movies etc, Windows Movie Maker works well enough for my needs.

Anyone buying a laptop specifically for movie making won't exactly be having Windows Movie Maker in mind.

The BSOD issue has long since been fixed now, thank goodness!
I know - for dedicated film/movie making, you'd be wanting much more specialist software than Windows Live Movie Maker :yep:

However, for what I need it for (occasional videos for Youtube), it does the job!

We're referencing Windows 8/8.1 and 10, both off which have a plethora of issues.
