Revision help

I revise but in my assessments there are completely different questions, which i don't even understand. I do well in Classwork and Homework .Could someone give me some ideas/tips to revise better and do better in my assesment like techniques?

Learn principles, not just facts and formulae. And obviously ask your teachers for help...

Also, i don't know why but I used to revise beforehand but know i don't take a lot of effort to do so as well I just revise 1 or 2 days before an assessment.. Ik I am weird but yh.
Do you mean in interpreting the questions?
is your assessment is past paper based?
