Many people, including me, would rather do their own work and comment on here when they are able to. I understand you're self studying this, which makes the urge of wanting to discuss things on here even stronger, but you can't just expect people to participate.

The manner in which you framed your question is interesting because it throws people off-guard. The question that needs to be asked is 'Should Scottish MPs be allowed to vote on English laws'

But let's take your original question and try to dissect it. This is a classic case of political ping pong. In order to be able to come up with a satisfactory answer to your question, I would suggest that the following be discussed.I would then conclude that English MPs should vote on English laws. and for those that agree with me, I want you to think about this for a second. If you had agreed to original question, why then should UK be part of the EU? Shouldn't UK law makers vote and make laws that affect the people of the UK? Why should unelected and unaccountable EU ministers, commissioners and presidents be allowed to decide on laws that affect the UK?

I find he or she to be quiet rude. We haven't even finished Unit 2 yet...my teacher is awful and going really slow....yet this poster keeps throwing these questions out and scaring me in to thinking we are going to fail. Jheeez!

Spot on! I would also talk about the significantly different political landscape in Scotland to England. Scotland is predominantly SNP, whereas England is Conservative - therefore we have people who are not representing England at all influencing on our bills and deciding what is to be passed. I like the fact you've translated the question onto an EU question. I feel like in the exam something similar could happen. For example, you could get a 40 marker asking to what extent is Parliament sovereign. That would be a lovely question, some of those other 40 markers are very nasty indeed!

@Audrey18 we haven't done Judicial and Cabinet yet but when do i will answer the other two when i start revising for unit 2 hahaI got some points but they aren't fully developed and about the exam............. check every paper it should be formatted as Section A and Section Byou need to pick 1 from A and 1 from Bso in Unit 1 the marks would be same for both sections but for Unit 2 they change it a lot so sometimes section A might be two 40 mark questions and Section B might the usual 5,10,25 markers So basically if you revised for Parliament and Constitutional and they both showed up on section A then mate I'll pray for youUnit 1 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVA4cza02I0)Unit 2 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZW0tHCC0wo8)These videos should clear up everything for you

The main textbook isn't really very good in terms of the structure. There were many things that were left out of it. I've been studying on my own through websites and youtube. I was quite nervous about the exams but now I'm much more calmer.

I totally agree with you but then again there's always good and bad in every type of government and any type of voting system so really as long as you're safe and your human rights are protected , i dont think there's a need for greater change

Direct democracy is good and bad at the same time Good that people take part in it directly and have a clear say but bad that it promotes '' tyranny of majority''
if i were to rule a country I'd probably a mix of socialism(economic aspects cause im not a big fan of capitalism haha) with a bit of Liberal democracy(rights) and a hint conservatism(valuing tradition etc)....... idk
