I listen to a lot of musicals, to Marina and the Diamonds, to tons of video game music, to a little bit of operatic stuff
In general I am not really embarrassed to like any music; but I guess this is stuff that certain people would think I ought to be embarrassed over lol

Not embarrassment per se, but I listen to some black/death metal, and whenever I'm discussing my music taste with normies I usually just say I'm into popular chit, because if the normies knew what I really liked they would think I was a weirdo.

Example: I have been with gf for 5 years. I listen to pretty much every genre of music, but my gf heard me listening to death metal one time, and now she thinks I only ever listen to death metal, or in her words "all that aggressive angry screaming stuff you listen to".

You make a good point, didn't think about that kind of thing; I listen to a fair bit of Opeth (old stuff..) and people would probably find that a bit strange I guess..
