Can your ref see whether you received an offer or not? or do they only find out once you've firmed?

Do you mean like the UCAS advisor person within your 6th form/college? If so, then yes or at least mine did because we had meetings once we got all offers back.

If your school/college pay to subscribe to "Adviser Track" then yes. Although you can talk to UCAS and ask that they don't share your application details with your school/college.
