Fuuuark.

Are you an only child?

How the hell do you support a family on just £12.5k?

Uncomfortably. Since my mum became disabled she's only been living off about 8.6k a year 5k of which is in housing benefit that goes straight to the housing association. It's a pretty miserable existence and not actually enough to live on, my sister helps support my mum by giving her enough money to prop up the short fall.

12.5k depending on rent though is doable, but certainly not comfortable.

I never said it does matter...

I was simply correcting someone who seemed to be trying to call someone else out. Don't imply someone is lying if you don't even know the figures yourself.

From sources like Glass Door or Payscale.

Turns out big finance companies pay their MDs closer to the 200k mark as well, so it will depend on what type of business you're in.

No idea how you came up with 40k though

Apologies, i looked at the wrong figures. Seems its around 80k.

Mum: Family Court Advisor, I think somewhere in the 40s, 42k maybe?
Dad: Died but last career was Head of Drama in a secondary school, so whatever an average teacher's salary is
Step dad: Carer / Nurse , somewhere around 25k

No worries, 40k just seemed way to low for such a prestigious role so I just had a look.

Btw how did your dad manage to own so many restaurants at such a young age?

Dad: ~£12.5k a year as a chef at an Indian restaurant. Indian restaurants are so crap in terms of paying people a decent wage.

Mum: stays at home

his food must be banging
does he cook ur dinners

Aw I love biology. But it can get a bit too much sometimes.

I think I'm driven by the crazy idea of doing something good for the world, that's all

I wish to do something with Criminology in the future  What A-levels/ College courses did your father take?

Funnily enough, my dad didn't go to university. He was a semi professional footballer/painter decorator until he was 25, joined the Prison service and then joined the police when he was 30. He's 44 now and managed to climb the ranks through his own merit (and a hell of a lot of courses).

My dad is one of those people that is extremely good at making money and very very intelligent.
He did some illegal credit card dealings back in the 90's, got a lawyer and taught him how to fight the case and won.
He took over his dads restaurant, started with one and turned them into 20.
There is a reason he's not allowed back in the uk, his credit rating was damaged, buts he's fine now. Its been cleared.
