What does he feel??

So me and a guy friend became really close. We started hanging out, spending nights together an so on. He even showed affection towards me infront of our friends. However suddenly he pulled back and seemed distant. Im really struggling to understand what we were and how he feels about me. Any help?
The only way to know is to ask him. It could be something has changed between you, he might be feeling down about something else and pulling away from everyone.

Find a good time to talk to him and ask what's up.

Ive tried asking him if anything was wrong but he said everything was okay.

Give him some time. And then instead of asking what is wrong, explain very calmly that something has changed and you are concerned and there for him. If he doesn't want to talk about it you can't force it. Leave him to mull it over and he'll talk to you when he is ready.
