Uni Entry Requirements

Hi,
If a university's usual entry requirement for a course is AAB for example, will it be possible for that to go down to ABB or if it was AAA then down to AAB?
If so, what do uni's look for in an applicant, to want to do this?

AAB means AAB for 99% of the time i'm afraid. They might knock it down a little if you were an outstanding applicant with great extracurriculars and other things but generally AAB = AAB.

You will be offered the set grades and your only GUARENTEE of getting in is getting those grades. However your uni may accept you on lower grades. This often happens. It depends on whether the uni has enough applicants reaching their offer when results are out. Nobody will know this including the uni themselves until the results are out. Most unis in practice accept someone with 1 dropped grade but there is no guarantee of this and it will vary from uni to uni, subject to subject and year to year
