This is exactly why America wants Trump. It seems this generation has never had to understand freedom of speech. Left wing Fascists are everywhere in the UK and US censoring silencing and resorting to violence instead of fair honest open debate and exchange of ideas.

Bandying around words like fascist or anti-fascist to such and extent is rather meaningless. When I think of anti-fascist I think of someone who is clued up on political theory to some degree like a socialist worker type who then is an atavist or goes on street marchers specially with the intention of protesting against a perceived fascism and in the defence of an ideology like socialism. Most people are not like that or consciencly aware enough of politics to be so.

You do not need to self identity as communist and being against fascism to be riled up by what you see as racism and go on protests over it. But you could ask most people now if they are against fascism and they would say yes. Does that make them anti-fascists?

I wouldn't call the trump supporters fascists or these protesters antifascist. There will be both in both sides but you can wash over each side as either. Sure a fascist could use them to further fascists aims or a communist could whip up support from another group of people. But most people are neither and mindlessly referring to everything as fascist or anti-fascist is stupid, especially when it is being used a swear word.

Exactly right. Liberty and free speech hasn't been under such attack for generations. What is ironic is that the threat doesn't come from external foreign despots; it comes from our own college campuses.

If you want to see fascism in action go to an ANTIFA meeting.

No. I don't have time to school you.

Simply get a dictionary and look up the word fascism, consider some of the central tenets you read about (nationalism, totalitarianism, economic etc) and then explain to me why and how you think Trump fits in within what you've just read. Then do the same thing with populism. Look the word up and think of Trump in the terms of what that word means.

I'm sure, once you've done that, you'll agree that Trump is a populist but not a fascist.
