When will people learn that you can't stump the Trump.

That is a very easy thing to say coming from someone who has only seen one election take place. If you take a look at the policy article on the BBC website, you will see that Trump's policies are actually more moderate than the other two candidates (apart from immigration). I'm am in no way a Trump supporter but I do find it pretty worrying that so many in this thread are advocating an assassination attempt, if you don't want to live in a democratic country where everyone gets a say then leave. How would you feel if people were advocating the assassination of Corbyn (assuming you are a labour supporter)? It's the same thing and if you can't see that then you are not a smart person. Rules don't just apply when you are the one who benefits.

And by the way. There was just as much controversy around Bush and he won (not saying I think this is a good thing) !

I haven't been around long enough to see more, can't do much about it.

And yeah his immigration policies are what scares me and other people. All I'm saying is that people really dislike what he has to say about immigrants, and in a country built on immigration I can't see it ending well for him. I'm not saying I'm supporting his assassination if that's what you thought I meant, I dislike him but that doesn't mean Id appreciate his death

This happens a day after Trump has to cancel his rally in Chicago due to violent left-wing protesters. Donald Trump held a rally in Ohio just a few moments ago when this happened:

'Assassination attempt' might be a bit over the top but it seems a protester was trying to storm on the stage and presumably harm him. Luckily, the crowd seems to warn Trump of the inevitable danger and he was able to react very quickly. Secret Services were forced to step in and protect the Donald. Very scary stuff, I hope Trump stays safe.

As this was in no way an assassination attempt, would you mind changing your thread title? It's very worrying and inflammatory to read that and wonder wtf is going on, when it's completely false.

Why do left wing people always preach hate? ****ing disgusting.

My experience is that generally what the right call 'hate' from the left wing is criticism of things like racism. If arguing against racism is redesignated 'hate', there isn't much hope for any of us and we might as well surrender to Hitlerism again.

who's to say it was to harm him? They could well have been a mega fan, overwhelmed with his presence.

Your right, beating up police and taking away people's constitutional rights is moral.

I'm curious why you think that Trump is so racist (I'm not a Trump supporter).

The 'protesters' tweets say otherwise:

But do you even know what they are? I feel like so many people take quotes out of context and believe them at face value. At least do some real research!

His views are about illegal immigration. In my opinion the view that illegal immigrants should be able to vote and get driving licences (Bernie Sanders) is far worse than what Trump has said.

Kidnap him and waterboard him 24/7 for the rest of his life. He doesn't consider it torture anyways.

So far, the violence has been orchestrated by Trump himself, calling on supporters at rallies to attack peaceful protesters and (even more troubling) journalists.

Supporters of his are facing charges and his campaign manager is accused of assault!

It's a complete distortion of the facts to portray the violence as coming from the protesters. They have only been waving placards and shouting and for that, many have been physically attacked and Trump has urged this on.

Trump has made many racist statements, he has portrayed Mexicans as criminals and deviants, he has painted all Muslims at terrorists and has attacked Europeans, including the British and derided other minorities.

Here's a nice list of his more recent racist remarks from the Huff.

Well... Err... Not to put too fine a point on it, but Hitler got in to power through the violent intimidation of other parties, including physical attacks of supporters and their leaders.

Trump had to cancel a rally in Chicago because of violent protests and this attack on him suggests his opposition have taken pages from Hitler's handbook on politics.(With apologies to Godwin's law).

Trump is a terrible person. Physically intimidating him or his supporters to shut them down is worse and simply legitimizes him.

The current US election can be summed up as, "Don't blame me. I voted for Kodos."

See I don't support the whole idea "illegal" and "legal" immigration. Don't see how you can deny someone a place to live and work just because they were born in a different country. But that's a whole new discussion and obv there are things like criminal records that make it more complicated, but I definitely know I do not support Trumps policies

Then we have different ideas on what is racism.

Racism is prejudice and discrimination against people due to their race. He generalised Mexicans as lazy rapists, and said that there should be a wall to keep them out. How is that not racism? I am highly curious to know what your particular definition of racism is.

Seeing as you're not the demographic for my whole argument, the comment I made successfully polarized the replies (exemplified by your statements). Advising me what to do is irritating. Don't do that.

So you only want to talk to people that already agree with you...

Trump has repeatedly urged violent attacks against protesters and his own campaign manager has assaulted people.

The closure of the Chicago rally appears to be mainly a PR move by Trump as the police advised him it was safe to proceed. Most of the trouble there was caused by heavy handed police action and it was kicked off when Trump supporters started shoving and kicking protesters, a repeat of their performance at previous Trump rallies.

Most of the physical intimidation is coming from the Trump side (in fact, all of it so far almost) - what would you suggest is the best way to counter a neo-fascist who is demanding physical attacks on the opposition at his rallies? Keeping quiet about it?

You misunderstood. While yes polarizing is only binary in essence but its not in application. For example I meant polarizing people by intelligence. But it will also polarize people in other ways as well.

The irony of this is pathetic. My purple prose is almost a literary filter to breed arguments with people that can sustain a prolonged conversation with me. And relative to that, you are failing.

Narcissists really do hate being belittled.

It is him, he hasn't tweeted since he's been arrested. Look at the video of the protester being escorted out that I posted on the first page and compare that his Twitter photos. That, and the fact he tweeted before the rally that he was going to disrupt it, is enough to assume it is him.
