Hello guys. I'm Daniel and I'm 13 and I am currently in the process of picking my GCSEs.
My current thoughts are: Triple Science English (ofcourse) Maths (ofcourse) History French AND EITHER Drama OR Economics.
I am looking to study law at either Oxford or Cambridge University (hopefully).
Now my question is....Should I pick Drama for gcses or economics and why?
Thank you,
Daniel
Economics sounds more relevant but I doubt Oxford will care about your GCSE choices, they'll care about the grade but not about the subjects you achieved the grade in. Which one do you find easier/more enjoyable? Base your decision on that instead of something that's ages away that you very well might change your mind about.
Now my question is....Should I pick Drama for gcses or economics and why?
If you are thinking of being an advocate (ie a barrister) then drama might be a reasonable bet over the longer term. Otherwise I don't see it being of much use. What you should probably be thinking about is what A-levels you will take and how they will help you get into Oxbridge and a law course.
Don't know the current score, but when I was at school you didn't have to do GCSE economics in order to do it at A-level.
Economics. You will have a more competitive application with that subject. however, do not take it, if you are not interested in it. It will be horrible to fail it.
If you will be comfortable with the work, then please do Economics. You should take Drama as an extracurricular, if it will be available.
