I was told that they may start giving out the bulk of their replies at the end of March or around that time

I know, it's so scary. I am a adult returner, I never thought waiting for them to make a decision would be so stressful. Good luck and well done for getting an offer from Glasgow. X

I work as learning support in a primary school, so I work closely with the the speech and language team, we meet regularly and I then deliver speech and language interventions within school. Sometimes these are aimed at addressing speech problems due to dyspraxia and poor muscle coordination, sometimes due to things like poor phonological awareness caused by dyslexia or hearing glue ear/ other hearing impairments.

I used to be a TA too and worked with children who had SLT programmes. I left though and work elsewhere.
I decided against going to my MMU interview in the end as I've been feeling pretty ill and grotty and it's put me behind in my PhD work. I couldn't really have afforded to take an afternoon off for the interview. I loved Manchester anyway and one offer is enough for me, so I confirmed my place there. Good luck to everyone still waiting.
Anyone else heard from Birmingham city?

I think they are likely to suggest you just pick one course otherwise it will be an easy rejection for them to make if you try and tailor it for both subjects.

I study at Newcastle. If you did want to do SLT then at Newcastle you get taught anatomy and physiology by medical and clinical neuroscience staff. The anatomy lecturer (McHanwell) is probably the most famous anatomist for SLTs along with his colleague at Sheffield. He literally wrote the book for SLT anatomy and has chapters in Gray's Anatomy on the pharynx and larynx. Some of this is completely overkill to be honest (e.g. a consultant cardiologist teaching us about the heart and brain circulation). But the 'medical' SLTs who specialise on things like motor speech disorders and stroke/aphasia are among the best in the UK if not the world too (e.g. Miller, Howard, Webster). This sort of course would be a good compromise as not all the SLT courses study anatomy etc. in as much depth. I guess Sheffield's would be another option (from what I have heard).

Hi, I was wondering what the distance radius that you may have to travel at Newcastle for clinical placement? Thank you!
