Wessex Hall

I received an unconditional offer to study at Reading Uni and am currently looking at applying to live in Wessex Hall. I've read that it's the best place to live for socialising, could anyone give any advice or/and guidance?

Hello,

Congratulations on your offer!
Wessex is good for socialising, especially as they have their own bar and everyone gets on really well with each other! Its also pretty close to our student union (so nightclub!).
The only downside is that most of the halls are on the other side of campus so it can be a bit of a trek to go and see someone but it's only really about a 15/20 minute walk!
Most people meet up at park bar for an evening out which is close to the park group collection of halls (So Mackinder, Childs or Windsor) so they might be worth looking into as well (although they are slightly more expensive!) Most halls are pretty sociable but Wessex is definitely a great choice.
Their is also a potential chance to swap halls at the beginning of the year but I'm sure you'll be happy wherever you end up!

I hope this helped, feel free to ask anymore questions,
Amelia, second year studying Archaeology and History
