Do you think that you will be asexual for the rest of your life or do you think it's just a phase? I mean you are just 17 years old.

I think, for me, it's for life. Asexuality, like all other sexualities, is fluid, but rarely just a phase.
17 is quite young, but not too young to know preferences/lack thereof. Obviously it's different for every person, but I think that it's an okay age for me at least to identify as ace.

Why do you say that? I'm genuinely interested in your thinking process behind that statement.

Because biologically humans have an urge to have sex, its how we produce children lmao. You're just probably confused.

I suppose it's a difficult thing to understand if you don't feel that way. Basically, between 100% gay and 100% straight you have lots of identities, like bisexual which is just sexual attraction to both males and females.

It's not a phase, personally I've felt asexual for as long as I can remember. I have seen a doctor and it's not a chemical imbalance.

I don't get how bisexuals can like both women and men. Like isn't that greedy? Why can't they just pick one? They're probably in the closet and don't wanna fully come out.

Have you tried watching porn/ or having sex. Maybe it'll change your mind dear.

What's asexual?

A lack of sexual desire/attraction.
Basically, someone who is asexual does not feel sexual attraction towards anyone (they basically don't see someone and think "yeah I'd bang that")
or/and
they do not want to have sex ever. For asexuals, sex is just mundane, or repulsive.

I actually read an interesting article which said that asexuality may exist to stop the population getting too large, like an old genetic thing. I have no idea if it's true, but I thought it was an interesting idea.
Biologically most humans do want to have sex, but there are always exceptions
Bisexuals are not greedy, they can just feel sexual attraction to men and women. It's not a choice. You can't pick who you get attracted to. It is true that some gays identify as bi before they realise they are gay, but that does not mean that all bisexuals are gay.
I have tried watching porn. It was dull and a waste of my time. I have no wish to have sex, or kiss someone ever again. It's ingrained in my biology, I can't "change my mind" over something which I never chose in the first place.

Since you don't feel that way it doesn't mean it's false. You seems to be in a very strong denial, surprisingly even stronger than those in the closet as you label them. Bi is IMO the biggest sexuality and you might not accept it but a huge number of so-called straight people are more into the bi category. As my friend has said: bi allows to enjoy the best of both worlds, it's not greedy, you got only 1 life, enjoy it as much as you can.

You got to put the biological nature of humans aside, with the process of thinking, humans are no longer full part of the nature. We are more about emotions and feelings and there are no boundaries for that. So the concept of 'love knows no gender' is becoming more and more popular.

But seriously, how can you deny the fact that gays exists? I though we are over the medieval ages. You got to open your mind a bit.
Would you have a boyfriend for the affectionate and intimate things like cuddling and kissing just not sex
I'm not sure on asexuality but I just tend to think that it doesn't harm me in anyway if someone wants to identify in that manner. Basically live and let live. I think my doubts occur in people like you who are 17 and never had sex as when I was 17 and a virgin I found sex uninteresting too, I didn't really see how it could be something that felt good. Bad sex is boring too. I hope you don't find this offensive - it's just stuff that I wonder about really.

Hey! I believe that gay and straight people exist. None of this asexual, bisexual, transsexual and demisexual business. People put labels on everything, things that don't even exist. It's a phase, you'll grow out of it, maybe see a doctor for your low sex drive.

Asexuals, bisexuals and transsexuals definitely exist...

But then world's population didn't begin to grow since the last 100 years but I haven't heard of asexuals as of now. Maybe what you feel may be correct but I don't really understand it. The opposite sex is so hot, how do you not want to experience pleasure from a person you love? Yeah loads of bisexuals seem to be in the "closet" like Shane Dawson.

No I believe gays to exist. I believe bisexuals don't lol. Like just choose one it's really not that hard. You have friends of the same sex so just enjoy that.

So you don't have any crushes? Or is it that you intend to never have sex?

This is a interesting topic.

I'd say I'm asexual, and like the OP think I always will be. I've never talked about it, or been to a Dr or anything, I'd never even heard of a need to see a Dr before this thread. Do I need to?

What you are describing is a romantic attraction (desire to with with someone romantically) and for asexuals it can be difficult to find our romantic attraction since we do not have sexual attraction. Asexuals can have romantic attraction for same sex, both sexes, opposite sex, or no-one.
Personally, I do not like kissing but I do like cuddling. Whether I'd want to be romantically involved with someone is something which I'm still trying to figure out.

I'm asexual. I have known I was asexual since I was 11. I have been through puberty. Every blood test I have ever had has come back normal. I have no sexual attraction to anyone, male or female and I never have. I think my entire life is a bit long for "just a phase". I stopped growing years ago. Bisexuality exists. Bisexual people feel attraction to both men and women.

My bad, I meant to write bi/trans, as in how can you not believe in them? More and more news are coming now with even small kids identifying with diff gender than they were born in. Now parents are raising their kids without the gender limitations, boys can dress as girls and vice versa, whatever makes them happy.

This is surprising, ppl, well at least the ones around here, find bi quite hot. I think sexuality is all in the mind, so you cannot control how you feel and who you are attracted to. If it's a guy or girl, doesn't matter.

Nope. Asexuality is not linked to any hormone disorders or other medical conditions. It is not related to past sexual trauma.

No that's not offensive at all, I started this thread to open up discussions like this!
I know that a virgin who doesn't want to have sex seems fairly normal and not an indicator of asexuality. However, for many asexuals they do not just experience a lack of desire for sex, but also a lack of sexual attraction. For me, that was most clearly displayed early in secondary school when my friends would talk about "hot" guys, and I had no idea what "hot" meant. Obviously "hot" means attractive, but there is something else implied which I have never understood.
So basically, many asexuals have no desire to have sex at all and feel no sexual attraction towards anyone.

Great!
I have no clue how I would talk about it, and It's not that I'm not used to Dr's, I've got so many medical conditions. Sex is just something I have so little interest in even the word makes me feel strange.

Yes, I think I understand what you are trying to say (I think)... but I felt the exact same way when I was in your age and situation. I simply wonder if when you are slightly older and have sex if you might enjoy it. Would you consider having sex? It's just that I have seen a lot of people say they are asexual but they have never had sex before. Idk. It's your identity though.
