Do you think that you will be asexual for the rest of your life or do you think it's just a phase? I mean you are just 17 years old.

Why do you say that? I'm genuinely interested in your thinking process behind that statement.

I suppose it's a difficult thing to understand if you don't feel that way. Basically, between 100% gay and 100% straight you have lots of identities, like bisexual which is just sexual attraction to both males and females.

It's not a phase, personally I've felt asexual for as long as I can remember. I have seen a doctor and it's not a chemical imbalance.

Hey! I believe that gay and straight people exist. None of this asexual, bisexual, transsexual and demisexual business. People put labels on everything, things that don't even exist. It's a phase, you'll grow out of it, maybe see a doctor for your low sex drive.

I actually read an interesting article which said that asexuality may exist to stop the population getting too large, like an old genetic thing. I have no idea if it's true, but I thought it was an interesting idea.

Bisexuals are not greedy, they can just feel sexual attraction to men and women. It's not a choice. You can't pick who you get attracted to. It is true that some gays identify as bi before they realise they are gay, but that does not mean that all bisexuals are gay.
I have tried watching porn. It was dull and a waste of my time. I have no wish to have sex, or kiss someone ever again. It's ingrained in my biology, I can't "change my mind" over something which I never chose in the first place.

Since you don't feel that way it doesn't mean it's false. You seems to be in a very strong denial, surprisingly even stronger than those in the closet as you label them. Bi is IMO the biggest sexuality and you might not accept it but a huge number of so-called straight people are more into the bi category. As my friend has said: bi allows to enjoy the best of both worlds, it's not greedy, you got only 1 life, enjoy it as much as you can.

You got to put the biological nature of humans aside, with the process of thinking, humans are no longer full part of the nature. We are more about emotions and feelings and there are no boundaries for that. So the concept of 'love knows no gender' is becoming more and more popular.

But seriously, how can you deny the fact that gays exists? I though we are over the medieval ages. You got to open your mind a bit.

Basically, someone who is asexual does not feel sexual attraction towards anyone (they basically don't see someone and think "yeah I'd bang that"
or/and
they do not want to have sex ever. For asexuals, sex is just mundane, or repulsive.

No I believe gays to exist. I believe bisexuals don't lol. Like just choose one it's really not that hard. You have friends of the same sex so just enjoy that.

I'd say I'm asexual, and like the OP think I always will be. I've never talked about it, or been to a Dr or anything, I'd never even heard of a need to see a Dr before this thread. Do I need to?

I'm not sure on asexuality but I just tend to think that it doesn't harm me in anyway if someone wants to identify in that manner. Basically live and let live. I think my doubts occur in people like you who are 17 and never had sex as when I was 17 and a virgin I found sex uninteresting too, I didn't really see how it could be something that felt good. Bad sex is boring too. I hope you don't find this offensive - it's just stuff that I wonder about really.

Nope. Asexuality is not linked to any hormone disorders or other medical conditions. It is not related to past sexual trauma.

No that's not offensive at all, I started this thread to open up discussions like this!
I know that a virgin who doesn't want to have sex seems fairly normal and not an indicator of asexuality. However, for many asexuals they do not just experience a lack of desire for sex, but also a lack of sexual attraction. For me, that was most clearly displayed early in secondary school when my friends would talk about "hot" guys, and I had no idea what "hot" meant. Obviously "hot" means attractive, but there is something else implied which I have never understood.
So basically, many asexuals have no desire to have sex at all and feel no sexual attraction towards anyone.
