How do you like your steak?

Spoiler

Whipped this up a few days earlier.

How do you like your steak? And do you think there is a difference in taste between rump/ribeye/fillet that is worth the variation in price?

The steak in the picture had sat on a cooling rack for about 10 minutes where most of the blood had dripped off. The taste of a well done steak as opposed to rare is completely different.

Bloody like a vampire with a side of garlic.

My steak was cooked with lots of garlic and thyme but I don't have the garlic as a side dish. I make a garlic butter and just baste it with that.

Does it still taste nice. I just cannot...
I'd throw up at the sight of an uncooked looking steak with blood dripping
Well done, but not so well done that it's dry and burnt.

Maybe 95% -- so that it's not dry, but not bloody

Does my steak not look good? :frown:

It tastes incredible. A well done steak is an abomination in my opinion, especially if you fork out and spend money on a prime cut.
Alive and mooing.
Medium-rare.

It does but I just can't eat steak with pink flesh still visible

Blue.

Didn't that start by throwing a lump of meat on the side of a furnace so the outside was seared, and eating it?

Basically raw...

I prefer mine cooked slightly more than that, but I certainly wouldn't turn that down  Would rather undercooked than overcooked or you're essentially just eating a burger

Filet/Filet Mignon: Rare, Anything else: Medium Rare.

It's not blood. Also eww.
Well really it depends on the cut of the meat you are eating.

If ribeye not below medium, the fat running through it needs to be cooked at least to medium for the full flavour to be appreciated.

If fillet though then rare is the way to go.

This was before I became vegetarian/chegan.

Now I like my steak like I like my men......
