Women admit that once they hit their 30s they become invisible

http://jezebel.com/aging-actress-maggie-gyllenhaal-too-old-to-play-55-year-1705998078

Was reading article above of Maggie gyllenhall where at 37 she was too old to be casted as a 55 yr olds love interest.

Top comments were other women are agreeing:

"Honestly, I'm 33 and I would say I look 33, not much younger or older but I'm invisible now. Which is nice in the sense that I don't get harassed much anymore but it also makes me feel like I'm not desirable anymore."

"I’m a 38 year old grad student and teaching assistant. It has become really obvious to me that I am virtually invisible."

Hollywood cast females 30yrs younger then the male, and the sad part is it doesn't even look out of place. Here are some graphs that add to notion that once women hit 30s they're not seen as desirable any more

Im pretty invisible at 19 lol, I think that the entertainment industry is very ageist, especially towards women but I'm sure there are a lot of guys out there who aren't just looking for girls in their 20's a lot of it's about confidence and knowing that your self worth doesn't come from someone else

Plenty of hot 30 somethings, kind of overshadowed by the hot 20 somethings but still

Attractiveness is generally correlated to age, but it's not an absolute thing, not getting fawned over anymore, it's not because you're older, it's because you're less attractive.
Jennifer Anniston = 47
Sofia Vergara =43
Jessica Alba = 34
J-Lo = 46.
All conventionally fawned over.

Could I please borrow her brother jake? There are plenty of desirable women who are still seen as hot, above the age of 30 but yeah,It's all about age in the entertainment industry, it seems.

Oh my :colondollar:
Think about the poor pornstars.. they get cast off mid 20's as younger fresher talent moves up
It happens to males to but they don't whine over it so we don't hear of it, they are just happy with the money they made. It's like boybands they kind of fade away after age 30 and the fresh young new talents come through ie one direction. Same will happen to girls bands like lil mix and girls aloud.

Does anyone remember blonde heartthrob Jack Ryder off coronation street ? You can't recognise him now

Find a career where you're valued for your creativity, intelligence and personality and you only get more visible and respected as you gain in age/confidence :h:

First world problems... in fact, even in the first world most people are 'invisible' in the sense of 'not being an attractive woman'.

I'm talking about the comments, not about film casting which is a different matter.
Halle Belle! She's 50 isn't she. Most women let themselves go in middle age that's the problem so they get stereotyped. Women should have a cardio and lifting schedule throughout life to stay in shape. No one is going to look at a fat saggy short haired woman just like a fat bald beer bellied middle aged man is nothing other than invisible.
Good, now they know how the average guy feels until they're like 25 with a decent job.

Agree, people believe stereotypes too much. One of these stereotypes is that if women lift they will look like a bodybuilder on steroids, it's a shame stereotypes hold people back.

That's the problem. So many women omen think that men will be attracted to them because of "creativity, intelligence, personality, good career, etc" when that is like 10% of the attraction for men. Whether you like it or not, for most men youth and looks are the key factors when it comes to dating and even marriage.

There are loads of hot guys under 25 with a string of girlfriends and there are lots of nerdy unpopular girls under 25 who can't get a bf.
Loads of people who are unattractive and younger are invisible too

I don't think they were talking about it from the perspective of men being attracted to them...
