Need bank account to apply for student loans

Hello,

Do you need a bank account to apply for student loans?
Yes for maintenance loans, possibly not for tuition as it goes straight to your uni.
I'm quite unsure because I used my sisters account and it was fine, but I didn't end up needing to because I made my own.

To be on the safe side, just make a bank account. The process is usually quite quick

You don't need a bank account before you submit your SF application. You just need one set up with the details on the SF system, before your first Maintenance Loan payment is due in late September.

You can apply now and leave the bank account section blank. Once you have your bank account, you can log back into the SF system and add the details.

With most banks, you can't apply for a student bank account until you have a confirmed offer from a uni, anyway.
