Is this a suggestion that I'm a right wing extremist and islamophobic? Well for starters, my political allegiance is pretty moderate right I'd say, I think the most right wing views I have are economic rather than social or international. I'm certainly no nationalist, and I'm certainly not islamophobic. I have issues with Islam, yes, just as much as I have with any other religions. I think all religions fundamentally cause suffering, it just happens that at this present time Islam is the biggest threat.

I'd be interested to know how you made the assumptions I'm either far right, or islamophobic?

Because you support the viewpoint of the nazis having equal democratic rights. Or don't you agree with Howard and the denial that is Phoebe?

Politically, neither do I since national socialism is the antithesis of everything I believe in. I do believe that these people have a right to a platform though. I'm less frightened of them than you are. I guess I have bigger balls.

Thomb, Multiculturalism, I strongly recommend you search logical fallacies, specifically ad hominem fallacies. As a casual word of advice, the moment you start the whole "you're a xxx" "stop being a xxx" malarky is the point you lose all credibility and show you have no argument, just prejudices.

You say you won't waste your time debating with specific groups of people such as racists, but with that being said, some racists have legitimate views on other subjects. Don't dismiss an argument because you don't agree with one aspect of an individual's belief system.

The thing with arguing about having equal democratic rights is that once you start tampering it's very easy to carry on. Plus it's very subjective.

Um, I think everyone has equal rights until they commit a crime. What exactly do you mean by 'equal democratic rights'? Are you saying that they shouldn't have freedom of speech, shouldn't be allowed to vote? Cause if that was your side, then I'm afraid I'd have to disagree with you.

Thinking someone has the right to voice their opinion, is not the same as agreeing with their opinion. I disagree with anti-semitism, nationalism, state control of the economy and an authoritarian police state, so I'm certainly no fascist-apologist. But saying that people with certain political views should lose fundamental rights is a very slippery slope and ironically, also a platform that you'd likely find yourself sharing only with the very same fascists you're condemning.

Please don't play stupid, it doesn't become you. You implicitly suggested that the reason you didn't respond to me was that I was a racist and so not worth arguing with. Your lack of ability to present an example of this rather rings of someone who has been called on their bluff, so to speak.

I've not said anything to suggest that I support the nazi ideology, so that is a similarly hollow attempt. Keep trying :smile:

I'm struggling to understand why these people are far right for protesting against terrorism? Or are we worried Muslims' feelings are going to get hurt even though they apparently don't align themselves with the terrorists? I'm confused.
