Update 25/03/2016

Wow, I didn't realise how long it had been since my last update! I'll go over subject by subject what's been happening:
History - I've got back a draft of my personal study and my teacher said it was really good, it just needed neatening up a bit and cutting down the word count. The word limit is 2000 but when I handed it in it was on 2571! I've been working on it today and have managed to get it down to 2234 words though, which I'm really pleased with. I also did an essay for Russia revision, which my teacher marked before we broke up for Easter yesterday - she didn't give me a grade so I wouldn't get caught up on just looking at grades, but she said it was good and gave me some really good points to work on for the next one.
English Literature - I'm just about to hand in my final draft for my coursework, it essentially has full marks but my teacher wants me to have one final look over Easter for mistakes and places where my wording could be better. In terms of revision, our other teacher showed us how to do some quote cards that I'll show you below!
English Language - We got back a marked and graded copy of our coursework for improvement, and at the minute I'm on a C (one mark off a B), but my teacher said that the marks at this stage are very easy to pick up, and I'm going to be editing that later today. My media piece is coming along nicely but I haven't had any feedback from my teacher so I don't really know how to improve that over Easter, but I'll give it a go...
In other news, I visited Durham for the Post Offer Visit Day on Tuesday and Wednesday to look at my college (Hild Bede) and have a talk and example lecture! It was really good and now I'm really motivated to try and get the grades to get there!
Learning quotes

On one side of the flash card, I write the quote so I can test myself on it either way around

On the other side I write notes about how I'd refer to each poem in terms of each assessment objective

This way I can test my memory of the quotes or my memory of the analysis!

Have you guys started revising?

I really like that method of quote revision for Lit! I've been procrastinating way too much for this subject so I think I'll steal that method. Your study blogs are so motivating!

I accepted Durham over UCL
Can I ask why ucl and Bristol declined you? You have higher predicted grades than they ask? Or am I reading it wrong...

Yeah, I got offers from all of my unis apart from Cambridge, but I declined them all apart from Durham and York  I never really took distance from home into account - I live very north but applied to 3 out of 5 of my options in the south

I'm sure you'll do great  what year are you in now?

UCL would be great if you like city life - the thing that put me off was how spread out and below average the accommodation was considering the price, but if you're used to living in a big city then that shouldn't be as much of a problem

Year 12, what are you studying? Can't wait to start applying to be honest haha! It's so expensive isn't it, I was also looking at Kings and nice accommodation is £280 a week!

English Lit, English Lang and History (and gen studs )

It really is, uni is expensive enough without that kinda accommodation cost
Update 28/03/2016

I'm now completely in revision mode for Easter! Last night I wrote out all of the modules I need to study (I'll talk about how I set it out etc later), and I've been working through them today. I've planned to revise for around 4-5 hours a day during the Easter holidays, but I've already done an extra hour on something than I planned to (whoops)!
Planning Revision
20160328_143933.jpg

I've written out each module, and then next to it I have little check boxes representing half an hour each. Every time I do half an hours revision on that topic, I colour in a box (you can already see a couple coloured in from this morning)

I've stuck these to my wall with washi tape so it doesn't damage the paint

In my bullet journal I've then planned which topics I'm going to cover on which days, but I haven't done a set timetable for them. If you've read my guide to revision then you'll remember that my golden rule is to never use a revision timetable!

Here is my bullet journal entry for today. Each task in the bullet journal is half an hour (apart from the History essay, which is 45 mins).

This morning I did an hour's revision on metaphysical poetry (rather than the half an hour I planned), an hour on the Romantics (half an hour more than planned) and half an hour each on general English Language theorists and speaking English Language theorists.

How is your Easter going so far?

Thanks :awesome: I recently started learning how to do brush lettering so it was sort of an excuse to do that on the titles :colondollar:

I've had a really productive morning today, partially because it's been bright and airy and that keeps be awake and motivated, and partly because my grandparents are coming over this afternoon and staying for a few days so I want to get ahead so I'll be able to socialise a little! Hopefully I can keep this up over the rest of the holidays
