Why's it weird and gross to eat dogs and cats?

Why do we consider it gross though? I asked someone and they said dog and cats are smarter then cows and chickens thus making it ok? Why exactly do we think its sick?...lol, I don't even know why I used to think it was sick.


would you ever at least try eating dog or cat?
What if someone paid you a lot of money? Obviously this isn't a question for vegans and vegetarians.

I have been hiding.
Different culture and value system.

Hey, meat is meat. If it tastes good, whats the harm? I'm open to it if it tastes good, and boy do I eat things some people would consider strange.

I already eat the pig, cow, and chicken, clam , squid, and tripe so am I really sick for being open to trying dog and a cat? Is there a real difference between pork, beef, and chicken?

The real reason that we baulk at eating dogs and cats is because it's not so much the eating of animals that's the problem-for the majority of people that is-it's the incredibly cruel way we treat them up to and including the point of death.

The way the Chinese and others treat the dogs and cats before they are killed is so loathsome that I detest the whole country and the peoples of any country that allow this practise.

I once googled,having just seen a truly horrific documentary about animal rights in China,"Why are the Chinese such *****?" but all I got was porn.:frown:


But that of course brings us to the way we in the west treat cows and other animals.

It is of course still unutterably cruel,to the point where I'm proud to be a misanthrope, but the difference is we are simply more able to tolerate cruelty to certain types of animals.

Basically if it has fur but isn't vermin we get up in arms but woe betide any poor creature that is tasty ,tame and lacking in fur.


Never mind why we don't eat cats and dogs, the real question is why are human beings so utterly cruel and selfish (and hypocritical) per se?
