Touche! I'm about to finish my Software Engineering course and I've just been offered a job to be a.... you guessed it: Software Engineer

That's awesome. Are you going to work in this country or abroad?
I actually want to be a script writer, I have many ideas in my head that I just make into dramas and programmes. I'd like to work in journalism as well.

You'd be surprised at those who do and not to mention the pay to view channels. There's a good video by Buzzfeed of a girl who is a cam girl and her boyfriend manages it all.

How sad

Nope. I'll enjoy the subject, and my time at university. My sights as of now, are set on careers that value smart and capable individuals, not careers that require a specific skillset - my aim is to keep as many doors open as possible for me early in my career. 'Data Science' as a degree is really just Maths, Stats and Computer Science bundled together for 3 years - I loved the variety of modules and freedom of choice you get with studying three subjects, so I went for it.

Don't get me wrong, the tech boom right now is all about Big Data and there's a huge demand for Data Scientists (they could be Maths grads, CS grads, Engineering grads or Data Science grads - as long as the subject is quantitative it rarely matters which) in the future that will be at the forefront of this boom. But, I'm not sure if I'd enjoy deep diving into a field that requires such high levels of specialisation and technical/quantitative ability. I want to be a generalist for the potentially more lucrative roles later on. That all said, I'm still open to jobs that have high upside whilst applying the kinds of theories I will have learnt at uni like algorithmic trading or quant strategist roles.

Ahh so you've planned it all well lool. Im thinking of data science too, seems interesting and less conventional than others and certainly the demand for data scientists outstrip supply by a lot.

I guess for a lot of girls it's an easy way to make money. It's like that trend of girls getting sugar daddies to pay their tuition fees and loans.

Yeah it disgusts me. The men more so because they create the demand for such a service.
I wish to become a human rights lawyer, in specific dealing cases of minorities' right and women's right. Or a social worker for women's rights.

I dread to think haha! It can't be easy, I reckon a lot of the girls are estranged from their parents or have run away from home. Imagine if someone you knew paid for your services on a cam site? :nooo:

It's degrading to women in society, we aren't objects to use sexually. But while fees rise, loads of girls will be looking at ways to get it all paid off. Shouldn't there be a law on this or something to protect people from sinking so low? Because arguably you'd want to look at easy ways to get yourself out of situations like debt.

Yeah, been planning this stuff for 3-ish years now.

Definitely look into it, the course is pretty cool. It'd fit a mathsy person that wants a bit of variety in their degree.

True, I do. I can't imagine myself doing it or my friends, and it's not like it's a salary either as it's commission based so it's not a guaranteed wage either.
Looking to join the military.
I haven't got one at the moment, but I'm considering hydrographic surveying as a possibility, or something within geology which will allow me to work in remote places
