Guy asked me out but he's 5 years older?

So my brother's best friend asked me out last week (we've liked each other for a while now) and I really really like him but he's 23 and I'm 18?

Is that a bad age gap or is it ok?

I think it's fine, your both adults. But if you can't accept it, it's making me question your maturity...

I think this is honestly fine, if you both feel comfortable then go for it
It doesn't matter what we think- it's about what is right for you and him.

18 and 23 is fine.
i'm 19 and dating a 27 year old, trust me it's fine!

The 1/2 age + 7 rule for the youngest person you should date is the definitive guide. I think it has a little safety margin too. So you're in.
did you post about this a few weeks ago? was a similar post about a girl who went cinema with her bro and his friend and liked him?
i just think it's stupid and awkward going out with your brother's best friend because whatever happens you've ruined their friendship now
Fine it really bloils down to who the two individuals are. You like him and your brother knows him.

You're definitely a trustee, anonymous.

Can't see a problem, unless you both want different things. But that's not always an age thing.
Bit pathetic for a 23 year old man to go out with an 18 year old, I'd say.
He should have his life sorted out by then, but evidently he doesnt - as instead he's dating teens..

There are no 'bad' age gaps. The only question that really matters here is whether you are going to seize what you desire or allow social conformity to deprive you and in my opinion, that's a bit sad.

not really when we're both over the legal age. I'm very mature for my age and he looks very young for his age. I've never met someone i have more in common with lmao get over it
Once both you and the other person are 18+ it doesn't matter. The age gap is fine but as long as it's legal (which it is) then you shouldn't care what other people think.
