The wahhabist religion forbids women from working, it even forbids them from driving. Their strict conservative wahhabists laws can prosecute the woman or her family in sharia courts , should these rules be broken.

So the point is should we expect people to break the law to work or refuse then any financial help if they choose not to break those laws?

You seem confused about which country TSR is based in, i,.e. not Saudi Arabia.

There is no wahabi religion They are sunnis. I dont believe sunnis are awarded benefits based on their eligion. If so care to probide a credible link or is this you yet again making things up?

If you cannot meet the criteria for benefits you do not qualify and you do not get them. If they are able to and they wont look for work then they will not get jsa.

I digress, back to the term Wahabi. This is definitely an outsider’s term. And to those who the term refers to, it is meaningless. It isn’t even derogatory. It has no meaning outside of lineage and tribal names. There is no Islamic sect called Wahabi and Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulawahab did not create a new Islamic perspective. He was just a famous and notable figure in Saudi Arabian history.

So what Islamic sect does the central region and the government follow? It is Sunni and we strictly follow Sheikh Ahmed bin Hanbil and Ibn Taiymiah, both of whom came long before Mohamed bin Abdulwahab. Religiously speaking we call our selves Hanabillah.

No. Just because someone believes in a God that doesn't allow them to work doesn't mean that we need to waste taxpayer money. Everyone who can work needs to work.

I could just make up a religion that forbids me from working and requires me to live in a 12 bedroom mansion- so should the government give me a 12 bed mansion and a yearly salary? No

That sounds like a religion with popular appeal.

From one of your favourite sources:

The basic principle is that a woman should remain at home, and not go out except for necessary purposes. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance”

[al-Ahzaab 33:33].

Although this is addressed to the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), it also applies to the believing women. It is only addressed to the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) because of their honour and status with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and because they are examples for the believing women.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Woman is ‘awrah, and if she goes out, the shaytaan raises his hopes (of misguiding her). She is never closer to Allaah than when she stays in her house.” Narrated by Ibn Hibbaan and Ibn Khuzaymah; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Shaheehah, no. 2688.

And he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said concerning a woman’s prayer in the mosque: “Their houses are better for them.” Narrated by Abu Dawood (567) and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

Wahhabism
No.
It's not "culture" like a lot of people are saying. In Islam, if you choose to follow the Hadith (I personally only believe in what's in the Quran) then there's a lot of restrictions on women doing things without their husband's consent e.g leaving the house unless they "need" to, asking for the husband's consent before giving donations even if from her own money etc.
For the people who follow this, they shouldn't be entitled to any type of benefits because the whole point is that they let their husband provide for them.

Women can work from home e.g. writing novels, knitting jumpers, growing cannabis etc.

That is Arab culture. Do not slate religion because of culture you need to be taught the difference. Educate yourself

Which "religion" bans women working? Sadistic OP, literally you're doing anything for REP or to start a fishy thread. And if that was the case, you either work and leave the religion. No benefits for yo.

Original post by Jehaan
Well generally it's culture rather than religion which requires women to stay home with T eh children. However I was reading about how Ultra Orthodox Jews believe that the mother's role in raising the children is of utmost importance so they should stay home HOWEVER it then went on to talk about how the men should be the breadwinners so if they are making money then there should be no need to receive benefits

Which religion states a women working is forbibidden??
And culture should bear no role in how much benefits someone gets, culture changes as do people

Can't think of any religion that says that women can't work.

Fundamentalist Islam, if not outright forbidding women from working most jobs, certainly encourages them not to:

Dont forget this is a total fiction made up by 1999. I dont believe there has been a case of anyone claiming they cannot work due to their religion and making a claim on benefits. There is no right not to work You clearly dont have a clue about either benefits or HR law.

You can't pick and choose which parts of a religion you want to analyse. Nor can you just google a question on Islam and expect to know the full story. It is wrong to make generalisations. Educate your mind before you slate a religion. Many atheists think they are above thirsts because their reasons are more logical without even thinking about major issues... If we evolved from animals where are the half animal and people fossils. It's called faith for a reason
The "culture-brigade" :colonhash:... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_culture
In regards to the original point raised by the OP - its not just Islam that "tells women" to do that, so its futile in this case to focus just on this....
(but it doesn't mean Islam doesn't tell women to do that)
Nope - it's called Job Seekers' Allowance, not "money to slob around."

Although they could probably get disability money for terminal stupidity.

HAHAHAHAHA this is utter :dolphin::dolphin::dolphin::dolphin::dolphin::dolphin::dolphin::dolphin:. Im not Muslim, but if you look back at the politics of Arabia and seen the role of women in work? Also the first women, whom was muslim, opened an university. The hardest was Christianity, where in the 1900's women couldnt vote and were forced under domestic activity.
